We want to help you choose the right puppy for your family and hunting needs, and help assure that you and your puppy will be happy together. The Epagneul Breton breed is known for its intelligence, excellent hunting ability, and pleasant temperament. However, these dogs will get into mischief without proper exercise and activity. They have a gentle nature and need human companionship to thrive. Your “EB” wants to be your best friend for life! Before we sell a puppy, we want to know that the new owner is prepared for life with an Epagneul Breton. The following questions will give us information to help choose the right puppy for you and will help you plan for the arrival of your new family member.

How did you find out about Sun Country Bretons? Were you referred by anyone? By whom?
Have you owned an EB before? Please explain your experience or interest in this breed.
What qualities are you looking for in a puppy such as temperament (calm, more active or bold), size in comparison to others in the litter, color preference if options are available (reservations are based on sex, not color), other traits?
Please tell us about yourself and members of your household. Children (ages)? Seniors? Other pets?
Do you own your home or rent? If renting, please provide your landlord’s name and phone number.
Please describe your home (house, apartment, mobile home, condo). Do you live in a city, small town, or country; quiet neighborhood or near heavy traffic? large or small yard? Do you have a pool or other conditions that might be dangerous for a puppy? Can you provide proper shelter in extreme weather?
Are you familiar with crate-training a puppy? (Highly recommended)
Will the puppy be kept inside or outside? In a crate? In a confined area in the house? Outdoor kennel? Fenced yard?
Who will be the puppy’s primary caregiver?
How many hours a day will the puppy be alone? Is someone available to feed and exercise the puppy when you are gone?
Have you ever euthanized or given a pet away? Under what circumstances?
Describe your intended use for the dog. What type of “work” or activities will your dog be involved in? Are you interested in competitions or performance events such as hunt tests, field trials, agility trials or show ring?
How do you plan to train your dog for obedience? for hunting?
Are you familiar with breed standards and conformation requirements?
Do you intend to breed the dog? If not, will you have it spayed or neutered?
Are you willing to abide by the breeders requirements for registration (full or limited) and spaying or neutering the dog if necessary to maintain the integrity of the breed?
