Dollar Bank sCHOLARSHIP CONTEST

NO PURCHASE OR TRANSACTION NECESSARY.

  1. TO ENTER: To enter the Contest, students must attend the financial literacy seminars to be held at the Deborah D. Booker Community Center and complete a research paper of no more than 1200 words about planning and paying for college. Seminars are subject to limited availability; registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Essays must be sent to “Dollar Bank Scholarship Contest,” Three Gateway Center-7 North Pittsburgh, PA 15222, Attn. Erin Guna. Essay must be received by 5:00 pm March 31, 2014, or postmarked on or before March 31, 2014. Research Projects will not be returned and will be the property of Dollar Bank. All papers must be the sole work of the submitting student.
  1. ELIGIBILITY: No purchase or transaction is necessary. The Contest is open to all individual legal U.S. residents who plan to attend any type of post-secondary school or college and are high school juniors or seniors graduating in 2014. Illegible essays will be disqualified. Employees, officers, directors, agents and other representatives of Dollar Bank, Dollar Bank’s subsidiaries, Dollar Bank’s affiliates, Dollar Bank’s suppliers, and Dollar Bank’s advertising and/or promotional agencies and their immediate families (spouse, parents, children and siblings, and their respective spouses) and individuals living in the households of their immediate families are not eligible. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

3. PRIZES:(1) $4,000 scholarship grants

Submitted essays will be judged by a panel of up to three judges. Essays will be judged based on content and grammar. The decision of the judge(s) is final. Any scholarship prize unclaimed within 30 days of notification may be awarded to another participant.

4. ODDS: Actual odds of winning a prize depend upon the total number of eligible entries received.

5. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS: Prizes are not transferable. No substitution of prizes is permitted except at the sole discretion of Dollar Bank. Federal, state, and local taxes and any expenses relating to the acceptance and use of a prize are the responsibility of the winner.

6. PRIZE CLAIMS: Winners will be selected and notified via phone or mail by no later than April 25, 2014. Winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and release of liability, which must be returned within ten days of notification. By entering the Contest, winners grant Dollar Bank permission to use their names, address, photos and/or likenesses for advertising and/or trade and/or any other purpose in any media without additional compensation, permission or notification and if requested agree to execute a written release upon ten days of notification. Winners further agree that Dollar Bank may use the submitted essay (or an edited version) for any purpose in any media without additional compensation, permission or notification and if requested agree to execute a written release upon ten days of notification. Winners under the age of 18 may be required to have a parent or guardian sign any required affidavit or release.

7. ADDITIONAL TERMS: By participating, entrants agree to: (a) the Official Rules and the decisions of Dollar Bank which shall be final in all respects; and (b) release, discharge, and hold harmless Dollar Bank and its respective subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, and employees from any liability, claims, or damages arising out of their participation in the Contest and the acceptance, use, misuse, or possession of any prize, including but not limited to illness, injury or loss of life, damage or other irregularities resulting therefrom.

Dollar Bank expressly reserves the right to terminate the Contest at any time and to award no prizes for any reason. Dollar Bank will not be responsible for any printing errors and/or omissions or lost, misdirected or late entries. Noncompliance with any Official Rules may result in disqualification of the entry and/or forfeiture of any prize.

8. LIST OF WINNERS: To obtain a list of winners, send a self-addressed stamped envelope with your entry.
