The Conference Audience

The LeadingAge annual conference audience is comprised of CEOs, senior management, middle management and departmental leaders and other professionals in nonprofit organizations providing housing and supports and services to older adults. The concentration of members provide affordable housing communities, Life Plan Communities, rehabilitation and nursing services, and community based services. Professionals in allied fields (i.e. fundraising, communications, finance, architecture, risk management, education, law, etc.) also attend the conference.

Submission Requirements

All submissions will be reviewed with the aim of developing a high-quality, well-balanced education program.

·  All proposals must be submitted by October 1, 2016

·  Sessions can be either one hour, 1.5 hours or a two-part session with a maximum of three hours of content

·  Complete information must be submitted by the due date

Evaluation Criteria

The conference planning team will review submissions using the following criteria:

·  Timeliness and relevance of topics to a broad audience

·  Practical and replicable applicability of content as well as field and thought-leading content

·  Learning approaches suitable for adult learners. Interactive sessions are especially encouraged.

·  Clarity and depth of session content and education methods that enhance the learning experience

·  Qualifications, expertise and experience level of the speakers

Please note that we may ask to collaborate with you to refine the session content for our audience.

Speaker Terms and Conditions

Proposal submitters are asked to keep the conference dates (April 24-25, 2017) available until notified of the status of their proposals by January 15, 2017. If selected to participate in the program, speakers agree to:

·  Incur all expenses related to the development and implementation of their sessions. LeadingAge Maryland cannot pay honorarium, travel, per diem or other costs for speakers.

·  Register for the conference. Two speakers for each session are entitled to a complimentary daily registration on the day of their session or a $100 discount toward a full registration.

·  Post session material online prior to the conference for attendees to access/ download

LEADINGAGE MARYLAND/ VIRGINIA SUBMISSION INFORMATION

Please include the following information, in this order, in your proposal. If your session is chosen, this information will be used to apply for continuing education credits and for creating the conference program, so be sure to use this format. If the session is not chosen for the conference, we may contact you to see if you are interested in providing content for other educational events or formats.
