B. Substitutions: Not permitted.
C. Requests for substitutions will be considered in accordance with provisions of Section 01600.
2.2 COLOR PERFORMANCE
A. Achieve a range of buff colors by varying the addition rate in the cement.
B. Color: Provide color palette of 30 stock colors.
C. Color: Provide pigment blend to match the Architect's colorant sample of product color required.
D. Pigment is inorganic, chemically inert, non-reactive with cement, mortar or brick, and non-toxic. It is lightfast, insoluble in water and non-reactive with solvents, oils, and most resins.
E. Pigments shall be stable under exposure to sunlight and UV radiation, resistant to alkalis and weak acids.
F. Every lot number produced shall be matched to the standard and evaluated by spectrophotometer using the Hunter Lab scale. The Delta E values shall be held to a maximum variance of 1.5.
** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Umber is a controlled product from a manganese enriched form of goethite, a naturally occurring inorganic iron oxide. It is lightfast, insoluble in water, resistant to alkalis and weak acids and non-reactive with solvents, oils, and most resins. Available as Umber RM or Redwood, a burnt umber. Delete if not required. Its cost effective pricing make it suitable for a broad range of applications. It is also available as Umber RM XF, which is an extra fine powder that is ideal for the coatings industry and capable of meeting a 7 on the Hegman scale. Also available as Redwood XF, which is an extra fine powder that is ideal for the coatings industry and capable of meeting a 7 on the Hegman scale. Delete if not required.
2.3 UMBER
A. Umber RM: A controlled brown, raw umber pigment with an average particle size of ~3 microns.
B. Umber RM XF: An extra fine powder.
C. Redwood (Burnt Umber): A milled, calcined umber with good heat stability and suitable for all concrete applications.
D. Redwood XF: An extra fine powder.
** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Ochre (pronounced o'-ker) is a natural, mineral, earth pigment. Chemically, it is a hydrated ferric oxide, chemical formulation: FeO(OH). Ochre is inorganic, chemically inert, non-reactive with cement, mortar or brick, and non-toxic. Ochre can be used as is to achieve a range of colors from yellow-brown to buff simply by varying the addition rate in the cement. Delete if not required.

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Broad application use for all cement applications.
A. 548 Ochre and 412 Ochre: A brown-yellow, refined natural iron oxide pigment with an average particle size of approximately 2 microns.
** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Ideal for retaining walls, block, and paver applications
B. Curry N500 (NIROXTM500): A concentrated natural iron oxide pigment with an average particle size of less than 1 micron. The small particle size enhances the color strength for a reduced loading.
** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Sureflo Granules are spray-dried, highly refined, free flowing primary colors. They are Georgia mined and processed natural iron oxide products that dramatically expand natural color options well beyond typical synthetic granular formulations.
