Definitions

  • The trainee is you, the person being assessed. You may also be referred to as the learner, student, candidate or employee in some instances.
  • The assessor is the person who will assess you.
  • The verifier is a workplace supervisor, team leader, manager or assessor who understands the assessment, works closely with you and can confirm that you have completed a task competently.
  • Organisational requirements– instructions to candidates on policies and procedures which are documented in memo or manual format. These requirements include but are not limited to – site-specific requirements and any quality management requirements.
  • Hazardous substance– any substance that has one or more of the following properties (explosive, flammable, ability to oxidize, corrosiveness, toxicity, eco-toxicity) when above specified levels. A hazardous substance can have more than one hazardous property such as petrol which is flammable and toxic.
