Job Title Fixed term contract for24 months from date of appointment

Location:Based inCommunity Action Southwark (CAS) in the London Borough of Southwark

Hours:37.5 hrs pw

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000

Job Purpose:

The Micro- Enterprise Co-ordinator will lead on increasing the numbers, types and sustainability of small (micro) enterprises and community groupsoffering care and support services across Southwark.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Developing and coordinating the community micro-enterprise development programme

This will include:

  • Working with key partners to adapt Community Catalysts operational tools for local implementation. Use these tools to manage the programme and ensure that providers receive appropriate support and guidance
  • Working with the Southwark Stakeholders Advisory Group to advise and support the programme; arranging regular meetings, providing comprehensive update reports with both qualitative and quantitative information
  • Working with key agencies to identify and engage current providers of community micro-services in the programme
  • Consulting with stakeholder groups of providers and people using community micro-services
  • Assessing the support requirements of providers and developing agreed strategies and responses to meet identified needs and inresponse to personal budget holders
  • Providing ongoing support to providers, including face to face contact, telephone, e mail, signposting, information provision and facilitated peer group support through the development of an association
  • Working closely with CAS to develop appropriate networks in Southwark, integrating activity with other local initiatives
  • Developing and implementing agreed strategies to encourage community members to establish or reconfigurecommunity micro-services in response to the requirements of individuals needing support
  • Working to meet targets defined in the local project plan
  • Working towards continual quality improvement
  • Following and owning the delivery of the project plan
  1. Identifying and developing effective working relationships with programme partners.

This will include:

  • Working with the project manager (from Community Catalysts), the host manager (from CAS) and the SouthwarkStakeholder Advisory Group to identify partners key to the success of the programme
  • Understanding the role and remit of partners in order to maximise the potential for collaboration and minimise the potential for duplication
  • Establishing effective working links with other identified partners
  • Working to ensure the continued effectiveness of established links
  • Identifying and engaging agreed new partners in the light of programme development.
  1. Promoting the work of the programme and of community micro-enterprises

This will include:

  • Planning and implementing promotional activity designed to create a positive view of the concept of very small scale services and to recruit providers to the programme.
  • Working in partnership with CAS to integrate promotional and engagement activity
  • Actively working with local services and organisations in the NHS, local authority, private and third sectors.
  • Producing a communication strategy which includes how social and traditional media will be used; producing and distributing brochures, posters and other promotional material designed to promote the programme.
  • Addressing groups including service providers, community groups and potential providers to promote the work of community micro-enterprisesand the programme.
  1. Effective Administration

This will include

  • Keeping clear and accurate records
  • Maintaining the programme’s filing systems and ensuring complete confidentiality of all records and information.
  • Ensuring a confidential database of community micro-providers is set up and maintained
  • Contributing to the data capture system every month
  • Producing and circulating programme statistics on a regular basis.
  • Contributing to the evaluation of the programme
