BOARD MEETING

  • Meeting called to order at 6:32 pm
  • In attendance were:Pam Giacomini, Marna Stock, Nicki Minear, Noelle Tawney, Tracy Fisk, Carin Contreras, Allie Suydam, Kris Cologna, Julie Guerrero, Gina Moore, Melissa McKinley, Tammy Bloomberg, and Dominick Caserta.
  • Motion was made to approve board members; 1st – Nicki and 2nd – Julie. All in favor.

NEW BUSINESS

  • Committee / Chair person is needed for the:
  • Crab Feed (Karen Cooper will lead)
  • Harvest Festival
  • Entertainment Books
  • Walk A Thon (April)
  • Pam explained the events: have binders (explaining how to run the events), CDs, tickets that are premade. Have signs / decorations for every event in storage.
  • Want to lessen the amount of fundraisers so that we can focus on the main ones. Suggestion: send out list of fundraisers early on so that everyone knows what we are fundraising. Possibly sell coffee?
  • Mother/Son event: partner with Strikes. Have a photo booth (Gina Moore may be able to get us a booth). Kris C. will be the liaison for the fun run and TJ.
  • Father/Daughter: Noelle to co-chair still needs another co-chair.
  • Entertainment Books: Kris and Noelle to co-chair. Every year we’ve made $10,000 that is our goal again. Cost is $30 and $15 goes back to TJ.
  • Crab Feed: Will be held at the Sunset Center on 3/24. Drinks will be ran by the Kiwanas club and giving us 100% of the profit. Trying to budget at $10,000.
  • What’s for dinner: Going to be quarterly. Will be bringing back Teacher Night at Chick-Fil-A.
  • Box Tops: Went from $40 to $1000. Last year some parents heard nothing about the Box Tops. Letters went out last year but this year will ask teachers to mention in their newsletters.
  • Book Fair: All proceeds go back to the library.
  • Harvest Festival: may have an issue ordering lights, corn, and hay. Really need a chairperson to run this. Last year PTC ask teachers for help any they got a lot of parents involved.
  • Field trips: each grade level amount and ask parents for donations.
  • Backpack hooks: See candy fundraiser from last year raised $2000. Carin is working with maintenance and should be up in a month.
  • Teacher luncheon: Aug 22nd
  • Muffin Morning: 1st day of school. School messager to go out letting everyone know about muffin morning in multi purpose room. Will sell TJ t shirts at muffin morning.
  • School directory: Last sent out in 2008-2009 and would like to update. Can we have Lyne download information? If no, may be a lot for one person to type. If interested see Pam.
  • Need volunteers to stuff the red folders anytime on Fri, Mon, or Tues.
  • Terrie to set up the PTC website.
  • Facebook: need to set up. Suggestion: on footer of every page have PTC link to our facebook page.
  • Computers: We got 30 refurbish computers for the lab (they were teacher computers). Many schools are going wireless. 1st principle letter will inform parents of computers and money raised to go towards technology.

Treasurer Report

  • Carried over from last year: $17,359.00 Biggest money maker were the entertainment books and crab feed. Lots of money carried over from last year. Carin to quickly work with teachers to come up with a plan for technology.
  • Meeting adjourned at 8:00 pm
  • Meetings are the 1st Tuesday of every month 6:30 -8:00 in the library.
