MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITTEE HELD ON MONDAY, 15TH APRIL, 2013 AT 7.30 PM IN THE PARISH OFFICE
Present : Cllrs. Mr. Young (Chairman), Mr. Lyons, Mr. O’Hanlon, Mr. Sharp
1. Apologies : Mrs. Aston – meeting. Mr. Moore – personal. Mr. Wheeler – sickness. Accepted.
2. Street light Report – only 1 faulty light has been reported since the last meeting. A total of 22 light faults have been reported during the year.
3. Sheerstock Commuter Parking – BCC and a Parking Consultant are meeting week commencing 22nd April to discuss.
4. Bus Shelter, Woodways – being installed on 18th April. Mr. Nicholson would be asked to lay a base.
5. Best Kept Village Competition – village to be made aware that we have entered. Map board opposite Post Office needs renewing – in a very poor condition.
6. Annual Parish Meeting : information board to include : new dog bin location, new litter bins, cycle racks, bus shelter, Sheerstock parking, Longwall, investigated work to Rudds Pond, path from Stokes Croft to Mallards Croft, Jubilee tree planting.
7. E-mail received from resident in Fort End informing that his car has been bumped 5 times since January due to cars parking in the area which narrows the roadway. The broken bollard on the cobbled area has still not been repaired. This has been passed on the Bucks County Council Highway Authority.
8. Complaint received from resident in Stockwell Furlong that skate boarders are using Stockwell, making a considerable noise. It is feared that with lighter evening approaching this activity will take place later on in the evenings. It is asked if something can be done such as putting up a “Pedestrians Only” sign. It was felt that children should be able to play.
9. Complaints had been received concerning the village alleyways being muddy and in need of tidying. Handyman would be asked to look at on a regular basis.
10. Mr. Wilson had asked if a white line could be painted on the bend at the junction of Greenway with Townside. Vehicles are parking on this bend making it dangerous, and partly across Greenway making access difficult. Contact would be made with BCC.
11. The Royal Mail has placed a notice on the post box in the wall of the Beehive, Churchway, informing that the box is to be removed. This is due to low usage. Nearest post boxes would be Banks Park and Wykeham Way/Townside junction.
12. The tractor needs its tracking done and 2 new front tyres.
