To that end, Red Cross Clubs must meet Regional and National Headquarters requirements. All Red Cross Clubs and their members must adhere to the following in order to be both nationally and regionally recognized as an active club as well as be eligible for the leadership programs.

5. International Initiatives. Participate in at least one international initiative International Humanitarian Law (IHL), the Measles Rubella Initiative (MRI), and Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) are three very important international initiatives through the Red Cross. It is important that we recognize the Red Cross as a whole and understand the hardships and struggles that individuals may face in countries other than our own. International initiatives serve as a tool to educate, motivate, and make a difference.
