Sunday, January 22

-  Workshop: Using Information Technologies to Support Better Construction Management (Marriot Balcony A 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM) - This workshop, the eighth in a series, addresses the overall theme of information technology to support construction field operations and specifically the use of automated document control systems and data exchange standards. It is designed for both researchers and practitioners and will culminate in a facilitated discussion related to research needs in this field.

-  Workshop: Sensing Technologies for Transportation Applications (Hilton, Columbia Hall 4 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM) – This workshop continues a series on the practical uses of sensing technologies for transportation planning, management, and operations. Technologies to be covered include both remote sensing and in situ sensors. The workshop brings together researchers to share the results of their efforts with a broader community and discuss future research needs. Presentations will demonstrate the broader application of these emerging tools.

-  Presentation Session: Self-Service Information Access for the Enterprise: Making It Work (Hilton, Georgetown West 10:15AM- 12:00PM) - How can transportation organizations move beyond a piecemeal, fragmented approach to sharing data and information? This session looks at current experience setting up an enterprise-wide information-sharing infrastructure using Microsoft SharePoint. Panelists present case studies of successful implementations illustrating key benefits gained, strategies for success, and pitfalls to avoid.

-  Presentation Session: Transportation Cybersecurity: How Secure Are Your Car, Plane, and Other Transportation Systems? (Shoreham, Congressional 8:00 AM- 9:45 AM) - Cybersecurity is a growing challenge in all modes of transportation. Cyber attacks are increasing and have the potential to create widespread disruption to transportation operations. As transportation systems become more dependent on digital systems, a better understanding of complex system risks and mitigation strategies is needed. Panelists describe the latest research on potential cyber vulnerabilities in aviation, automobiles, and other transportation systems.

-  Paper Session: Information Technology Applications in Transportation: Recent Research (Hilton, Columbia Hall 7 2:30PM- 4:00PM) - This session includes presentations of the top papers reviewed by our committee this year.
