Treasurer:Kristel Schlemper, University of Missouri-Columbia. Stated that MACADA currently has a balance of $3,891.54. To date, 33 registrants are scheduled to attend the MACADA Conference.
NACADA Liaison: Paula Aguilar, Webster University. Paula requested funds to attend the 39th annual NACADA Conference in Las Vegas. She stated that her roundtrip flight would cost approximately $400. She would investigate if Webster would pay for her food and registration. She stated that MACADA’s total expenses would be approximately $1380 if Webster did pay. Rachael made a motion to allot $1500 for her travel expenditures. Juli seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Paula also stated that she submitted a grant for the Emerging Leaders Program to receive $200 from NACADA. She also planned to submit a grant for Region 7 funds to receive up to $500 for a drive-in conference later in the week.
Vice President Membership:Ehren Oncken, University of Missouri-Columbia. Provided a membership report. We have 150 members and 31 institutionsare being represented, with oneidentified member from an unknown institution. As of July 24th, 36 members from 10 institutions have paid for the 2015-2016 membership year.
VP Professional Dev. & Diversity:Ragh Singh, University of Missouri-Columbia.Stated that the original June 15th Emerging Leaders Program application deadline did not have enough applicants, so the date was extended to July 15th. The program will proceed as planned.
VP Programming:Karie Stroder, Southeast Missouri State University. Defer to New Business.Deferred.
St. Louis Representative: Brittany Neunuebel, University of Missouri-St. Louis. No report.
Kansas City Representative: Rossann Downing, Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley. No report.
Southeast Representative:Amanda Kossuth, Missouri S&T. Stated that she will work towards recruiting advisors from her new institution.
Southwest Representative: Jamie Schweiger, Missouri State University. No report.

2015 MACADA Conference
- Concurrent Sessions
Fifteen applicants for concurrent sessions were received. A packet which included a copy of each proposal was provided to each board member to review. Each proposal was ranked and put into an Excel spreadsheet. It was decided that 12 concurrent sessions would be held with four presentations occurring at each time. Christina and Josh pulled their presentation from consideration. Proposals 1 and 2 were also removed. It was decided that the panel sessions would remain. It was agreed upon that a framework should be developed which outlines the contents of future proposals, as the amount of information submitted varied greatly from proposal to proposal.
- Keynote Speaker
Blaine Harding will be given $1,000 for travel expenditures.
- Keynote Speaker Gift
Christina will work on gathering gift items for Blaine. It may include a MACADA t-shirt, gift card, and coffee mug.
- Pre-Conference Meeting
A pre-conference meeting will be held on the morning of Thursday, September 24th to finalize plans and responsibilities.
- Emerging Leaders Program
The Emerging Leaders mentors and mentees will meet in the Shawnee Bend room from 11:30-12:30 p.m. for lunch. Ragh will communicate with each participant prior to the conference.He requested a separate table for participants at dinner and a ribbonwhich designates their participation be added to their name tag.
- Welcome Table
The welcome table will be set-up by 11 a.m. in the hotel lobby on opening day. It will be open between 7:30-8:30 a.m. on Friday, September 25th.
- Conference Schedule
The conference schedule will be remain the same as last year’s.
- Dietary Restrictions
Karie has worked with Camden on the Lake so that attendees may use color coded table tents to identify their dietary restrictions.
- Breakfast
Karie will investigate the possibility of reducing the number of attendees she submits to Camden on the Lake in an effort to reduce the cost of the meal.
- Beverage Break
Various food options will be considered in an attempt to scale back the cost of the break.
- Conference Certificates
Christina will create conference certificates for all presenters and Juli will make them for all outgoing board members.
- Plagues
Rachael will have plagues made for all award winners. She has requested that the titles and award winners names be sent to her.
- Giveaways
It was discussed that luggage tags, totes, or gift cards could be used as giveaways. It was also decided that “quality would be better than quantity.” Existing MACADA travel mugs would be used to present gift cards. Kristel will investigate how much money can be spent. MACADA pins will also be given to first time attendees.
- Door Prize Tickets
A door prize ticket will be given to each attendee. They will also receive one for returning their conference evaluation and best of conference evaluation.
- Drink Tickets
Each attendee will receive a complimentary drink ticket for Happy Hour.
- Happy Hour
Josh will host a “Minute to Win It” Happy Hour activity. Teams will be comprised of four people.

- Elections
Will be held during the closing session. Christina will send out an e-mail proposal to all MACADA members which states that the President-Elect must have served on the MACADA Board. She will also clarify this role during the business meeting.

Send information to Jenna as soon as possible. Christina will ask her if she prefers that documents be submitted in Word or a PDF file.

Announcements
Missouri State University will be hosting, “Advising Students in Transition.” It will be held on Monday, October 19th, and will focus on transfer, online, and adult students. Charlie Nutt will be the keynote speaker. It is free to attend. A flyer for the event will be put into the MACADA conference booklet.

- Tentatively scheduled for the week of September 14th via conference call. Conference duties will be assigned during this meeting.
