PTO Book Fair

The annual PTO Scholastic Book Fair will be held February 8th, 9th, and 10th in the multipurpose room. Students will receive a $2 coupon from the PTO toward purchasing a book. Parents are invited to attend the Book Fair on Tuesday, February 8th, during the monthly PTO meeting. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to purchase reading materials for their children.

Family Reading Program

The Family Reading Program will begin Tuesday, January 25th when students receive their Magnet packets. Parents can fill in names and addresses of family members who would like to order discount magazines. This program is designed for families to have an opportunity to purchase magazines for their families at a discounted rate. The program is voluntary and is not a fundraising project. All profits go toward the Student Activity Fund.

5th Grade Student Leaders

Every 5th grade student this year will have a chance to be a student leader. The 5th grade student leaders help with new students, errand running, and assist with planning new programs. This is a privilege and an incentive for students to strive to do their best.

Strive for Five Program

This program correlates with our school-wide behavioral program. Every 4 ½ weeks, teachers will select students in the 5 categories to receive an extra incentive for doing their best. The five categories are:

1.  Display excellent behavior

2.  Have super grades

3.  Are most improved

4.  Tried extremely hard to earn a grade

5.  Are a great classmate

The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will also receive recognition as part of our Bring Up Grades Program at the end of each nine weeks.

Soles4Souls Project

There is a student from the Central Cambria High School that is working on the Soles4Souls Project for her Girl Scouts Project. She wants to have as many shoes donated as possible so they can be shipped to local areas and also other areas around the world to families of need that might not have enough money to purchase shoes.

If you are interested, please bring in your used shoes (in good condition) so we can help this student meet her goal while helping others as well. There is a box located in the front hall. Thanks for your cooperation!! If you would like more information, please go to the http://www.soles4souls.org website.
