HIDDEN IN THE HILLS SHOWCASE 2014 - PROSPECTUS
FOR THOSE ARTISTS PARTICIPATING IN HIDDEN IN THE HILLS
Date/Time: Up to 3 pieces of artwork can be submitted via digital images to Judy Bruce @ from August 11—25th, 2014. The artwork must look like the digital image submitted. All artwork must be original, no giclees or other reproductions will be accepted. Artwork that is accepted will be dropped off at the Desert Foothills Library between 9 am and 10 am on October 3rd. Notification via email will be sent several days before the drop off date.
Showcase location and dates:
The exhibition will be at the Desert Foothills Library from October 3rd—December 5th, sponsored by the Town of Cave Creek.
Sales:
The Desert Foothills Library is willing to charge art purchases and send the money to you. No commissions will be taken from the sales for this HITH showcase.
Artists Must Provide:
A short mission statement and biography when delivering the accepted artwork. The artist information and other P.R. material will be displayed in a book at the library throughout the show. If your bio and mission statement are on file at the library you do not need to re-submit them.
Eligibility: Open to all Sonoran Arts League members participating in Hidden in the Hills
Hanging 2-D artwork: We have room for 30 or 40 pieces of 2D art. All 2D art must be wired and ready to hang with a frame or “gallery wrapped” canvas. Work will be rejected if it is not ready to hang with a strong wire and appropriate frame. Oversized pieces may be rejected because of size.
Hanging 3-D artwork: We have a case that can hold up to nine small pieces of jewelry or sculpture. The dimensions of each section of the case measure 14” (high) x 14” (wide) x 11” (deep).
We have six pedestals available for sculpture and artists may provide their own plinths
All large 3-D artwork must be installed and/or moved by the artist.
Labels: Clearly label the title, your name and phone number on the back or bottom of your artwork, and if for sale the price. This information will be used to prepare tags for the show. Each artist will be asked to check and sign off on this information. IF the information is not correct a new tag will be made immediately (at the library) and the artist must re-check and sign off on the tag.
Digital Images: Due August 11—25th, 2014.
The only thing appearing in the image should be a single piece of your work. Photograph 3D work against a solid background or other appropriate setting. The committee reserves the right to reject artwork that is not the same as that depicted by the digital image. The size requirement shown below is the size of the actual photo file you are uploading, NOT THE SIZE OF THE ACTUAL ART PIECE.

Color: RGB or sRGB
File Format: JPEG
Each image should be described by 1. Title, 2. Date, 3. Medium,
- Dimensions (also include framed dimensions if applicable) and 5. Price. You are allowed to submit three images for consideration. Also include your 1. Name, 2. Address, 3. Telephone #, 4. Email address and 5. Web site.
Kathy Duley, a former gallery owner and president of the Scottsdale Gallery Association will be our juror.
The Town of Cave Creek is sponsoring the Showcase, the juror, curator and the reception as well as 1st Prize--$200, 2nd Prize--$100 and 3rd Prize--$50.
