FINALS REVIEW!
Elite Division – Elders vs. Money
WOW, now this we would pay MONEY to watch! Can the Elders again reach the pinnicle of Legends? For you history buffs, the Elders dominated the first 4 seasons of Legends, winning each season. They were finally dethroned after they’re “Strive for Five” campaign fell just short! The Democrats ended the Elders’ amazing streak, then never came back – apparently afraid to lose their title on the court! However, the Money are a force with incredible studs Peyrebrune and Blendell. Will their small and big studs offset the small and big studs of the Elders, Styers and Rice? Time will tell!!! Don’t miss this marquee matchup!
A Division – Showtime vs. Wildcats
Showtime enters as the slight favorites, but never count out these Wildcats, who can light up the score at any time – just ask the Squires! Showtime has the formidable Robert Worthams (somehow in A vs. Elite), as well as a solid supporting cast. The Wildcats have a more balanced attack with stellar players across the board. This will also be a great game to watch!
A/B Division – Borg vs. HoundDogs
We ask you…what chance to little old hound dogs have against THE BORG?! Like Kansas vs. Lehigh! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!
B Division –Zephyrs vs. Islanders
Is this the year of the Zephyrs?! Solid management by Mark Benson, and studs like Beeman and Chow, make them the favorites to finally send Cinderella home! But watch out, the Havlovick brothers are back, and playing well!
Women’s Division – Wolves vs. Lightning
One word – Yikes!!! This game will rival the Men’s Elite for intensity and fine shot making! Can the incredibly tough Wolves repeat, or will the fast Lightning find a way to prevail? Only one way to tell!

Men’s Game of the Week – Money vs. Ninja (Elite LeagueSemifinals)
In the semifinals of the Elite League, the Money were able to upset the #2 seeded Ninja and advance to the finals. In the 46 to 40 win, Blendell and Bechtle led the way with 12 and 11 points respectively. L. Hay continued his stellar season by leading the Ninja with 21 points. After a withering comeback late in the second half fizzled, the Ninja searched for meaning (and new height) for the Spring Season!
Ladies Game of the Week – Wolves vs. Phantoms
The Wolves played their second straight close game but managed to defeat the Phantoms and move on to the Ladies championship game. Sarah Hardenbergh had her usual ho-hum performance, dominating the inside and scoring 20 points in the 49 to 41 victory. India Thomas chipped in with 11 as well. A. Hopkins led the way with 18 for the Phantoms, who played with 4 for most of the first half – and kept it very close – while #5 drove in circles around the high school!
Legend of the Week –Moniello(Borg)
In another surprisingly close game, the #1 seeded Borg got all they wanted from the Killers but escaped with a 68 to 57 victory. In the win, Moniello was an assassin, hitting shots from all over the court and finishing with 26 points.
Moniello airborne!

Khanmen vs. Thangs (pointless consolation game, yet still awesome) / The Khanmen and the Thangs renewed their rivalry and played a great game with the Khanmen winning 83 to 81. This was a throwback game to the old days of Legends Basketball when the competitive spirit was high but fun was still had and nobody took it overly seriously (those who take it too seriously know who they are!). It has been a long time since that much goodwill and laughter was seen and heard in a Legends game. Khan went off like a steroid’s crazy freak and scored 46 points in the win. Coach Thang even put in 6 points. Here is to hoping that we can see more games like this in the future!
