MINUTES OF SPROATLEY PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

(2435) Defibrillator
The defibrillator is now up and running, an awareness day is to be organised for the volunteers.
(2453)Trees along Wyre Foothpath
Cllr Buck has spoken with Richard Wastling regarding the planting of fruit trees, Richard confirmed that he is happy to plant the fruit trees as well as the original choice. Cllr Buck also mentioned that they have started planting the trees today.
(2458)West Newton (Rathlin Energy) Liaison Committee
Cllr Acaster confirmed that a liaison meeting will be held tomorrow.
(2468) Planters
Cllr Buck commented that there are still a few bricks missing from the Burton Constable Road planter. Still ongoing.
(2469) Parking – Sproatley Road
The soil on the roadside was left by contractors. The soil could not be placed in the field as it had to be left on ERYCland. A letter and a plan was received from ERYC regarding the parking restrictions along this road. The Parish Council propose that they restrict the full stretch of this road from the entrance of Woodland Rise.
(2472)Church Lane/Wyre Footpath
Cllr Acaster spoke to Karen Mortimer who confirmed that due to the state of the path there has not been many people using it. Karen did state that if the dog fouling keeps happening then she will place a fence along the area. Horse riding has been seen along this path when there is a notice stating no horse riding.

(2478) Christmas Tree Light Switch On
Cllr Wright said thank you to all the people involved. Cllr Acaster commented that George Fairbairn and Barry Cooper had been a great help. Barry in particular had helped greatly with a problem that had occurred. The Holderness Lions collected £90 which was better than last year. The singing group were happy to come again this year.

Barry in particular had helped greatly with a problem that had occurred. A thank you letter to be sent to Barry Cooper. The Holderness Lions collected £90 which was better than last year. Cllr Cochran informed us that the singing group were happy to come again this year.
(2481) Council Vacancy
A letter was received from George Fairbairn explaining that he would like to apply for one of the vacancies. Cllr Buck proposed, Cllr Wright seconded, all in favour. Ken Smith who was in attendance explained that he would like to apply, we had already received his application by letter. Cllr Acaster proposed, Cllr Buck seconded, all in favour. There is still one vacancy available.
(2482) Transparency Code
The Clerk has now placed all the minutes onto the Sproatley Parish Council website. Cllr Gunnis to look into a new laptop as the current one is proving difficult to upload minutes without any help from ERYC.
(2483) White Lines – Sproatley/Ellerby Road
Cllr Buck has been in contact with Humbleton and Burton Constable regarding the white lines, as we have started the process it was felt that it would be best to continue. The clerk to send a reminder to Mike Peeke before the start of the next financial year.
(2484) Precept
Confirmation received by ERYC for a precept of £11,000.
(2486) Christmas Tree Lights
Madam Chairman returned the christmas tree lights that were not working and purchased a new set that had been reduced. A refund of £25.01 was received.
(2487) Dog Fouling
A note to be placed in Sproatley Life regarding the vast amount of dog fouling around the village. Cllr Gunnis discussed spraying the footpaths, Ken Smith to arrange the spray. Cllr Buck pointed out that the entrance to the dog walking entrance is a mess, Madam Chairman to contact Richard Wastling.
(2488) Problems – Thirtleby Lane
Cllr Wright commented that the two passing places are in a very poor state with deep pot holes. Cars are struggling to use the passing places without causing damage to their vehicles. Madam Chairman to speak to Mike Peeke.
(2489) Damage to Holm Oak
Vandalism has taken place on the Holm Oak on The Green. A branch has been torn away creating a large hole. The Syndicate of Horticulture cut the branch into pieces as it looked untidy. Cllr Buck and Acaster will remove this in better weather.
