2014 Panhellenic Executive Officer Application
It is encouraged to attend the Question and Answer on October 6, 6 p.m. in LBJ 3-5.1.
Applications are due October 17th by noon in the Greek Affairs office(LBJ 4-14.1) and must be typed.
- Please submit one sealed letter of recommendation upon turning in your application – Letters may also be sent by the recommender via e-mail to Sarah Sutton, , by October 17 at noon.
- Sign up for an interview time when you turn in your application. The Panhellenic Executive Board has the right to move your time slot if there is too much time in between rounds – Interview dates are as follows:
- October 20, starting at6:30 p.m.
- October 21, starting at 5:00 p.m.
- October 22, starting at 5:00 p.m.
- October 23, starting at 5:00 p.m.
- Be prepared during your interview to give a one-minute speech on why you should be a Panhellenic executive officer.
Requirements for being on Panhellenic Council Executive Board:
- GPA of 2.5 Cumulative.
- Good standing with your chapter.
- Panhellenic Council meetings and Panhellenic Executive Board meetings are weekly and mandatory – Meetings are held Mondays and Wednesdays, and both start at 5 p.m.
- Four scheduled office hours per week.
- If selected, you will need to put these mandatory events on your calendar (can be subject to change):
- Panhellenic Executive Board Transition meeting and dinner: November 19, 5:00 p.m.
- Panhellenic Council Meeting: December 1, 5:00 p.m. in 3-5.1.
- Recruitment Hot Topic: November 9th, 3:00 p.m.
- AFLV Conference in Indianapolis: January 28 – February 1st(May be asked to sponsor yourself).
- Leadership Institute Annual Conference in San Marcos: February 20-21
- Mandatory Conferences throughout term.
The VP Recruitment-Elect must be someone who is willing to be on the Executive Board for two consecutive years. Your first year will be as VP Recruitment-Elect and the second year will be VP Recruitment.
Being on the Panhellenic Executive Board prohibits you from participating in any and all Formal Recruitment events with your respective chapter. Disaffiliation is required. This includes, but not limited to, watching your own chapter’s preference ceremony.
Be aware of Article V: Officers in the Constitution of the Panhellenic Association at Texas State University.
- Article V-3. The Panhellenic President shall not be a member of the same organization as the following officers: First Vice President, VP Judicial and VP Recruitment.
- Article V-4. No fraternity shall have more than two officers on the Executive Board.
- Article V-5. The Panhellenic Executive Board will try and have each chapter represented on the next board. However, the most qualified candidate will be slated.
