Award-Winning Fracking Film Embarks On Outreach Roadshow
Following Unearthed's recent success at the Sheffield International Documentary Festival and sold out screenings at The Encounters International Film Festival, the Unearthed team will now embark on a community outreach project and roadshow in the Karoo.
Led by Karoo born director, JolynnMinnaar, who has carried out over 18 months of research across three continents, the Unearthed team looks forward to taking the film to those who need it most - the communities caught in the middle of the heated fracking debate. The Unearthed Karoo Roadshow aims to empower local citizens with firsthand information from gas drilling areas in the United States and encourage debate around the contentious topic.
Selected by Bertha BRITDOC as one of eight ambitious films from across the world that have the ability to achieve real change, Unearthed is a grateful recipient of the Connect Fund that will help the team travel through the semi arid, rural area.
Screenings will take place between 9 July and 14 July 2014 in various Karoo towns and communities before heading to Durban to screen at the Durban International Film Festival.
