Dear Parents / Carers,
November 2017 Newsletter
The children have been getting busy making bees for our ‘We Love Manchester’ Christmas tree display at St. Georges Church. All the trees will be on display from Wednesday 29th November until Sunday 3rd December.
At the end of this newsletter there are diary dates up until the end of term – including Christmas activity dates.
A further newsletter which details all our Christmas activities will come out at the beginning of December. The children in the Nursery and Reception classes will be performing 'Whoops-A-Daisy Angel’. In Key Stage 1 the children will be performing ‘Little Angel Gets Her Wings’ and in Key Stage 2 the children will be performing a traditional panto, ‘Hoodwinked’!
Class Visits / Animotos – Wednesday 15th November
For children in Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 (not Miss Harris), Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 the end of theme 1 class visits will take place on Wednesday 15th November at 9.00am.

Friday 17th November - Children in Need ‘Spot-acular’ - No Uniform Day / Cake Sale
On Friday there will be a cake sale in school to help raise money for Children in Need. Please send donations of cake into school on Friday morning. Cakes will be 30p each. Friday is also No Uniform Day and the children can wear something spotty!
As Friday is also the end of anti-bullying week the children will be working together in the afternoon to explore the theme of ‘friendship’.
Stockport County – Saturday 9th December
The children had a special visit from players past and present on Monday to talk about healthy eating and healthy choices in our assembly. They have now all been invited to watch Stockport County v Spennymoor Town on Saturday 9th December for free! An adult can also go to the match free.

As part of this duty, in the next few weeks, we will have a series of drills to practise our response.
At the Family Forum, after the Family Assembly on Friday 17th November, there will be an opportunity to talk through our drills and procedures.

Special Achievement
Well done to Inaaya Din who has achieved 50 stars on her Cale Green Achievement Chart. Inaaya will visit ‘Simply Books’ to choose a book prize each which will be presented to her in Family Assembly, along with her GOLD merit badge. Well done Inaaya!
Remembrance
Finally, on Friday our children took part in events at school for ‘Remembrance’. These included a special assembly, a two minute silence and visits to St. Georges Church and Stockport Cricket Club to lay wreaths at the memorials. It was also nice to hear that our children were involved as flag bearers for the Scouts and Cubs at St. Georges Remembrance service on Sunday. Well done!
