2008 Junior Project
Due to the College Counseling Office by 3:00 PM on Monday, March 24th
1. Fill out the questionnaire completely. Do not leave any blank spaces. Download .pdf from type in your responses, print it out.
2. Download, print, and complete the .pdf version of the CommonApplication and the corresponding Teacher Evaluation, School Report, and Midyear Report, all available at:
- Form A (Application)
- Form B (Teacher Evaluation, School Report, and Midyear Report forms)
Use the “ODA Admissions Cheat Sheet” to help with the school and counselor information fields.
3. Create your own 9-12 resume of activities or “Brag Sheet.” You may follow the sample provided. Be sure to include anticipated activities, accomplishments, awards, etc. for the 12th grade. Your Brag Sheet must be typed using Microsoft Word, Excel, or a similar program.
4. In a separate document, also using MS Word format, complete the following short answer question (150 words or less):
Briefly elaborate on one of your activities (extracurricular, personal activities, or work experience). Consider why the activity has been meaningful, what you have learned, and how you have contributed.
5.In another MS Word document, choose one of the following questions and write an essay (at least 500 words). This essay should represent your best written work to date. Please see Ms. Anderson or Mr. Runge for assistance.
Evaluate a significant experience, achievement, risk you have taken, or ethical dilemma you have faced and its impact on you.
Discuss an issue of personal, local, national, or international concern and its importance to you.
Indicate a person who has had a significant influence on you, and describe that influence.
Describe a character in fiction, a historical figure, or a creative work (as in art, music, science, etc.) that has had an influence on you, and explain that influence.
A range of academic interests, personal perspectives, and life experiences adds much to the educational mix. Given your personal background, describe an experience that illustrates what you would bring to the diversity in a college community, or an encounter that demonstrated the importance of diversity to you.
OR, you may write your essay on the topic of your choice.
Your completed project is due no later than 3 pm on Monday, March 24.
There are no exceptions. Late or incomplete work will NOT be accepted.
