AWARD NOMINATION AND SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The nomination and endorsements should be as specific, accurate, and complete as possible. It is imperative that the true merits of the candidate be conveyed through this information.
All nominations must contain written narratives that will not exceed 300 words. Additional pages will be discarded prior to panel evaluation.
The narrative should describe the activities and accomplishments of the team or individual during fiscal year 2016. It should address all criteria relevant to the nomination category, including quantifiable results and other relevant implementation and management successes.
As recommended guideline, the text should address the questions mentioned here below.
- What kind of impact did the company / project / individual have on the energy sector and/or the energy business community?
- Which are the positive impacts brought by company / project / individual to your community?
- Why and how did your company / project prove to be successful in the market and in the commercialization process?
- Which needs of the customer/user and/or in the value chain does the project satisfy?
- What is innovative about the project developed? To which extent is the product unique? What problem does your project solve?
- Under which terms your project can constitute a ‘Best Practice’? Is your project transferable and, where appropriate, replicable?
- Please describe the environmental sustainability of your project. Is your project contributing to the reduction of Green House Gas emissions?
- Did your project encounter problems in social acceptance and regulatory barriers (if applicable)? How did you solve them?
AWARD CATEGORIES DEFINITIONS
Project Awards: A project nomination must describe either one or a set of activities that directly resulted in measures that impacted positively on the sector. Nominations should describe projects that are particularly exceptional or innovative and go beyond "business as usual" measures.
Company Awards: These categories of awards honor a business organization demonstrating superior performance in the development, delivery and innovation of conventional or renewable energy, energy products and services.
Individual Award: Nominees should be extraordinary individuals who have been directly responsible for creating and instituting innovative and effective programs, projects, or technologies and/or have otherwise significantly helped the agency meet its energy goals.
It is strongly encouraged that applicants organize narratives according to the applicable criteria so that all required information is addressed.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS AND DEADLINES

SELECTION PROCESS
The panel of jury members will review and score nominations. As part of the narrative, please include detailed information for each applicable award criterion.
For each award, the Jury is in charge of assessing the final nominees. The Jury members are chosen among acknowledged representatives of the business community.
Members of the Jury will be asked to vote for nominees in each category. The final nominees list will constitute the basis for choosing the winners in each category. Any information provided by the final nominees will be treated as strictly confidential and will only be used for the purpose of designating the Award Winners. The award is given at the majority of the votes. In case of equal votes, there will be a second round of votes.
Members of the Jury are independent from the nominees for which they will have to vote. If otherwise they will withdraw from that specific vote.
The Jury is independent from the Organizer, namely Diplomat Media Events. All information will be treated as confidential and will only be shared with the relevant Jury members. The final decision on the winners of each category will be taken in a meeting between Jury members in the week preceding the awards Gala. The meeting will be organized by The Diplomat at a date and place announced to all Jury members.
THE AWARD WINNERS
The name of the Award Winners will be announced during a gala evening held at JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, Constanta Ballroom on 25 May, 2017, starting 7 P.M.
