SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
2015
Beacon Credit Union is making available eight (8) $500 scholarships to eight (8) students who are entering their freshman or sophomore year of college in the fall of 2015.
ELIGIBILITY:
1. Parents, guardian, or applicant must be a member of Beacon Credit Union as of November 30, 2014.
2. Applicant must use the financial reward toward college fees in any college, university or technical school of his/her choice.
3. A student may receive a scholarship from another source and still be eligible to receive this award.
4. Students applying for the scholarship will apply on a form authorized by the Board of Directors of Beacon Credit Union.
5. Completed form, essay and most recent academic transcript from your school/college and mail postmarked no later than January 31, 2015.

The person applying for this scholarship must be entering their freshman or sophomore year of college in the fall of 2015. Each applicant must be a member or have a parent or guardian who is a member of Beacon Credit Union. The person applying must complete a 200-300 word essay based on the following topic:
According to a study from Think Finance, “Millennials are using a mix of traditional and alternative financial services to meet their needs…92% Millennials report that they currently use a bank, almost half (45%) indicate that they have supplemented their banking activities with some form of alternative financial product or service (prepaid debit card, check cashing, iPay, Google Wallet).”
Do you currently, or would you ever, use financial services simultaneously from both a financial institution and a non-financial institution? What type of product or service would you like Beacon Credit Union to offer that would compete with non-financial institutions?
