Welcome
Carolyn welcomed everyone to the PAC meeting. Meeting began at 6:33PM
Minutes
AMotionwas made to approve the minutes May 11,2016 meeting minutes. Themotion was Seconded.
Minutes Approved.
Financials
Lynette Montejo, PAC Treasurer, discussed the Treasurer’s Report. All figures were estimated by years past for right now, and in discussion with Mrs. McInnes about upcoming ideas for the budget needs and fundraising goals.
Amotion to accept the budget was made, and an attendee seconded the motion.Budget accepted.
Principal’s Message
•Mrs. McInnes would love to have the School grounds beautified, take back parking spaces, wall updates with quotes painted, cubbies outside specialists, hooks on walls by classrooms,
•Would love to concentrate on an overhaul of the courtyard-adding seating and making functional for staff/students to use.
•Would like to pilot the use of yoga balls and standing desks
•Would like to pilot a paperless classroom and add more Laptops to existing carts (no cart needed)
Updates-Fundraiser
• Fundraisers-Fall fundraiser will be Pies and cookies, and Hot/cold vortex cups. Pick up date will be before Thanksgiving.
Updates-Upcoming Events
•Dine-out nights-Looking for a volunteer. If interested please reach out. Main Street pizza will be the first Dine out, and looking into Altitude for the half day of school- Oct. 6 Other options for upcoming events are Mehfil or Saffron Grill.
•Green team –starting mid- October on Thursday afternoons
•
•Community Giving-Coats for kids will continue this year
New Business
- Box Tops – Jenn Griffin is organizing the Box Top contests at the Ryan School. Sheets will be sent home, and some friendly competition will be considered for incentive of bringing in box tops.
- Arts and Enrichment- Karla Branchaud is organizing. Looking to Animal Adaptations for 5th grade, and Pyramids and Pharaohs for 6th grade. Also looking into Randy Pierce 20/20 Vision Quest regarding a visit.
- Substance abuse prevention-Mrs. McInnes was contacted and waiting to hear back about bullet points of the presentation prior to booking dates.
- Student/Staff basketball Game will be held November or December – More snacks will be needed this year (peanut free)
- River Hawks- Game will be planned for during February vacation
Carolyn thanked everyone for attending the PAC meeting.
