Resolution No. 47-BOD-08

“Relative to extending congratulations to the Members-Elect of the Hawaii State Legislature and expressing appreciation for their continuing support of the programs and activities of the Association of Pacific Island Legislatures.”

WHEREAS, the mid-term elections for the members of the Hawaii State Legislature was recently held in November, 2006; and

WHEREAS, the Hawaii State Legislature is an active member of the Association of Pacific Island Legislatures; and

WHEREAS, the Hawaii State Legislature holds a special place in the hearts of the legislators and members of parliaments throughout the APIL region for the strong and continuous support that Hawaii has provided to the APIL; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Association of Pacific Island Legislatures, 47thth Board Meeting, December 6-7, 2006, Republic of Palau, that the Board of Directors on behalf of the Association of Pacific Island Legislatures hereby congratulates the newly-elected members of the Hawaii State Legislature, and expresses appreciation for their continued support of the programs and activities of the Association of Pacific Island Legislatures:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the APIL President shall certify and the APIL Secretary shall attest to the adoption hereof and copies of the same shall thereafter be transmitted to the Governor of the State of Hawaii; the Senate President and Speaker of the Hawaii State Legislature and to the Chief Executives and Legislative Presiding Officers of each Member Legislature of the Association of Pacific Island Legislatures.
