GENERAL INFORMATION

  • All fixtures are published at the beginning of term on the School website. Some alterations will take place but you are encouraged to print the list and display it prominently at home.
  • Attending school practices and playing for school is an integral part of the school curriculum and intrinsic to your commitment to IPS Sport(seethe Pupil Planner).
  • You are part of a team and are required to play midweek and weekend fixtures when selected. If you are unavailable for a fixture, you must provide notice of this at least 48 hours prior to the fixture (not including weekends). Failure to do so will result in a Code of Conduct Detention, you are letting your team down.
  • It is your responsibility to check fixture lists and team sheets to see if you are required for a match. Ignorance of selection is not an acceptable excuse.
  • If a sports fixture clashes with peripatetic music lesson or rehearsal it is up to you to inform both teachers of the clash well in advance. Teachers will come to an agreement over which activity/event has priority and then inform you.
  • Any request for absence from a fixture due to a family occasion should be made in writing from your parent/guardian, to the teacher i/cas early as possible and at least two weeks in advance of the fixture.
  • You must travel to and from all matches in school uniform, unless alternative instructions have been given.
  • Pupils who are asked to change during the School day for afternoon fixtures must wear full IPS Tracksuit into School lessons.

  • You must attend tea unless otherwise instructed.
  • All parents, home and visiting, are welcomefor post-match teas
  • Directions to grounds and match timings are displayed on the school website.

SATURDAY MORNING CANCELLATIONS

To avoid unnecessary travelling in the event of games being cancelled on a Saturday, you must regularly checkthe ‘news section’ of the website, in particular on Friday and then again on Saturday morning before heading to the fixture. If there is nothing stating otherwise you must assume the fixture is on.

As much notice of cancellation as possible will be given but it must be accepted that a sudden change in circumstanceswill, inevitably, lead to a last minute decision.

MIDWEEK CANCELLATIONS

If matches have to be cancelled on a school day a decision will be made by lunchtime (where possible)and published on the sports notice board and the ‘news section’ of the website. If necessary, details of any alternative arrangements will also be displayed along with an approximate finishing time. In the event of a late cancellation, parents of the pupils involved will be texted.
