William Harvey Commemoration – Sunday 11 June 2017
As is customary a short ceremony will be held at the Harvey statue on the Leas in Folkestone on Sunday 11th June 2017 to commemorate the life and work of William Harvey. The ceremony will be led by the Mayor of Folkestone, Town Councillors, representatives of the Harveian Society of London, the Harvey Grammar School, The King’s School Canterbury and the William Harvey Hospital. The Burlington Hotel (01303 255 301) has been booked by the Mayor of Folkestone for robing before the ceremony and for tea afterwards which is free to members taking part in the event.
The President hopes members will attend, enjoy the celebrations and, as usual, you are encouraged to wear academic dress (but not to go to the expense of hiring it!) to give added gravitas to the short procession along the seafront.
Luncheon has been arranged for the Society at the Burlington Hotel’s Bay Tree Restaurant for 1pm and will consist of a main course and pudding together with wine/soft drinks at a cost of £33 per person.

If you wish to attend please return the proforma overleaf, indicating your choice of meal, to reach the Society as soon as possible but no later than Friday 2 June 2017 so that the meals can be booked.
