Before/After School Rules

All participants in The Groden Center Before or After School Child Care @ Kingston Hill Academy must register no later than 2 PM on the day that child care is needed.

Costs associated with Before/After School Child Care sessions will be paid in advance.

Ø  Student participation in The Groden Center Before/After Child Care programs is subject to approval by the Principal or her designate. Repeated behavioral issues may prevent a student from temporary or permanent participation in these Programs.

Ø  All Before School participants will arrive no earlier than 7:45 AM accompanied by a parent or guardian, who will sign the child into the session

Ø  All students will report to After School Child care as directed by end of day announcements

Ø  AS - Upon arrival at the designated location, child care providers will take attendance

Ø  AS - After outside play (weather permitting), students will be provided with a snack and juice

Ø  During the Before/After school sessions, School rules – BE SAFE: BE KIND, BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE will be followed, specifically:

o  Student will be respectful of themselves, their peers, their child care providers and school property

o  After playing, etc., students will clean their areas, leaving them in an orderly fashion

o  Students will not leave the designated location for any reason, unless approved by a Child Care provider.

o  Students should respect each other therefore, fighting, teasing or playing rough is not allowed. Child Care supervisors who observe students exhibiting these behaviors will fill out an incident report. Multiple incident reports may deem it necessary to exclude a child from the Before/After School Child Care Program.

o  Students must obey the following outdoor rules:

§  If riding on swings, student must be seated

§  If playing on slide, students are prohibited from walking up or down it

§  Throwing rocks, mulch, or snowballs is not permitted

§  Students must stay with their group; wandering to other areas of the playground/blacktop is not permitted

Ø  Due to safety concerns at the Before and After School Programs, adults other than staff are not allowed to interact with students within the building or on the playground. When picking up students, please sign them out and the staff will call your child over for dismissal.
