Date of Report (MM/DD/YY):February 2, 2016
- ACTIVITIES AND/OR ACCOMPLISHMENTS: It has been over 30 years since I was last on council…the needs of God’s people really haven’t changed that much.
*On January, 12th, Council officially decided that I would be responsible for Adult Ministries.
*In January, I met with Bob and Donna Cook in order to discuss what responsibilities fall under Adult Ministries. There have been many phone calls to Bob and Donna since that meeting.
*The annual chili/soup cook-off was held on January, 10th. Sharon Welsh was in charge of this. Thanks, Sharon, everyone who participated enjoyed the event.
*The condolence team was able to show their love for the family of Jean Garrison by preparing a light supper served following her memorial service.
*Donna Cook had previously arranged a cooking schedule for W628. Thank you to Donna, Jim Fields, Pat Bowling, Gail Garrison, and Rachael Poppino for their willingness to prepare meals. In January, meals were prepared for people attending W628 on the 6th, 13th, and 27th. The January, 20th W628 was cancelled due to bad weather.
*I am trying to acquaint myself with Quick Books.
*Charlie Garrison and I have had discussions about Boy Scout Sunday. In the past, it has fallen on the same day as the Second Sunday Lunch. Currently, they bring OJ, milk, and donuts. Our discussion has been around the following possibilities:
-change the event to the third Sunday
-encourage the scouts to prepare the 2nd Sunday Lunch instead buying donuts
-leave it as is
- GOALS FOR NEXT MONTH:
*I will meet with Kim and Kelly Garrison to discuss their plans for the Women’s Ministries.
*I will find three people to help me with an event for adults. (Or a family event)
*I will become better acquainted with Quick Book.
- PARTNERSHIP: How can the Council and/or Pastor help you to accomplish your goals for the next month?
*Please be in prayer that I follow the Holy Spirit in all that I do.

MINISTRY REPORT FROM MY HI CHAIR – FEBRUARY 2016
My activities and accomplishments for this month have been limited to learning the ins and outs of heading a group that is much smarter than I. I think we had a great Bond-O-Matic that will hopefully lead us to many productive and spiritually stimulating sessions all year long. I am excited about the possibilities of us coming up with a direction for our church that we can all get behind. A direction that is clear, concise, simple and focused. All of my prayers this month have been centered on that. I feel blessed that I think we have just the group to accomplish this task.
Coming up in March my goal is to get some of the speed bumps out of our meetings to make them such that we can focus on the spiritual growth of our church and reduce the time spent on the business side of things. I know that the business side is very important, but I feel that most of it – including decisions being made via emails. If we can agree on this we can not only shorten our meeting times, but spend most of the time on our spiritual plan for our church. My hope is that we can carry on an open and honest dialogue during our February council meeting that will bring us to a conclusion. This is not a thought brought down from a mountain top so I may be way off base – thus the open and honest discussion.
Blessings,
Denny Crutcher

- ACTIVITIES AND/OR ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
We started out new rotation schedule.
Our decorating and design committee are working together.
- We have two new members on the decorating committee
The midwinter conference was a great experience.
- I now have more stage design ideas
- I also learned how to incorporate multiculturalism[1] into our morning worship.
- It was also nice meeting people and learning more about the denomination
- Elliott was talking to Garth about possibly starting a Great Lakes softball league.
This month was our first month having an acoustic Sunday. We will continue to do that every fourth Sunday of each month
This month we also had youth Sunday.
We also had our Worship committee meeting this month. Talking through the vision for this year and expectations.
Our small group started the Not a Fan series. It is going well so far. We will need to break for the Financial Peace University and then continue it after that.
We will be having a new couple join our small group after the Financial Peace University.
- GOALS FOR NEXT MONTH:
Incorporate the ideas from midwinter into the worship service
Continue to grow as a musician/ Worship Leader
I would also like to continue on the path that I feel God is calling me.
- Ministry License
Having new members join the small group/worship team
Make the services and atmosphere the best they can be.
- So that we can keep from distracting anyone from finding/hearing God.
- PARTNERSHIP: How can the Council and/or Pastor help you to accomplish your goals for the next month?
I’ve been praying for that last 5 months (at least) about where God is really calling me. What He is calling me to do? I’ve been challenged (in a good way) multiple times in the last year. I’ve been having this feeling that I’m supposed to be doing more. Yes! I LOVE music! God has given me the gift of music. I also LOVE people and helping them. I’ve been reading, and praying, and reading, and praying some more. Initially I thought it was just me, I wanted something more. After midwinter and praying some more…I’ve come to believe that God is calling me to be a pastor. Not a head pastor or lead pastor. More of a worship pastor or an associate pastor. One that helps, listens, serves, prays, guides, knows when someone is troubled. With your blessing, I would like to begin the credentialing process with the ECC, and see where God takes it from there.
I appreciate all of you very much! I’ve never felt so loved in a church before. Elliott and I have said this multiple times. This is our family. This is our home.
How can you pray for me? Pray that I’m making this decision because He wants me to not just because I want to also.

- ACTIVITIES & OR ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Many activities & accomplishments for the month of January. We began our adult education classes on “The Sacred Marriage”. Classes were offered on Sunday morning & Wednesday evenings, & were very well attended.
Youth groups, including Kingdom Kids, God Squad, Jr. & Sr. high continue to meet regularly, with steady attendance.
Our Jr. & Sr. high youth attended an incredible event (conference) in Tennessee, in which several teens committed or re-committed their lives to Christ!!! Praise God!!!
Small groups & prayer group continue to meet, some of which are growing in number of attendance.
Shelby Langford has agreed to lead a childrens class during Sunday school sessions!! She has been planning the activities & curriculum. We are thrilled to have this much needed class available to our young children! Thank you, Shelby!!
VBS facilitators have met, & will continue to meet monthly or twice monthly to ensure the preparedness for this incredible event! We are considering partnering with 2 of our affiliated churches in the sharing of theme, decorations & possibly volunteers.
Background Checks continue to be a “work in progress”. I did not communicate clearly last month. I need to clarify the status of our background check progress. I take responsibility for giving you the wrong information, I made an assumption that the background checks were moving smoothly when in fact they hadn’t been. I have since met with Regina & Kathy Ullrich, who have been working very diligently on this project. A letter of consent has been created, that will be distributed to the people who will need the BC performed. A list of individuals to whom the BC needs to be obtained has also been created. A filing system has been created as well. There are potential questions that could arise that we are preparing for as well. This is a very serious project & one we are handling with detail & care.
- GOALS FOR NEXT MONTH:
*Next month I would like to have more progress made with background checks, having many more of them already performed.
*Secure more volunteers for the nursery during Sunday school sessions.
CHRISTIAN FORMATION MONTHLY REPORT-JANUARY 2016 CONTINUED
*continue planning adult education calendar.
*continue planning & preparing for VBS.
*work on Christian Formation budget issues. (currently over budget )
- PARTNERSHIP: How can Council and/or the Pastor help you accomplish your goals next month?

Please pray for this ministry that it continues to grow & thrive. That all teachers & leaders (& myself) will be in prayer & will be obedient to Gods calling.
Please offer me support & prayer when needed. Please offer any advice that you feel would benefit the ministry.
I feel honored to be able to serve in this ministry & appreciate having the friendship & support that you all offer.
Thank you.
