Camp Cambria
Camper Code of Conduct Agreement
In order for you to have a fun, exciting and safe week at Camp Cambria, every camper needs to follow the same Summer Camp Rules. Our Camper Code of Conduct is our guide to ensure the enjoyment and safety of all campers! Please review the guidelines and disciplinary procedures below and make sure that you understand them.
This document is to be read and signed by both parent/guardian and camper.
I understand the behavioural expectations listed below must be followed:
1)Respect Camp staff at all times.
- Each camper is to listen carefully to staff instructions.
- All campers must follow all rules issued by staff.
- Campers are to be respectful of all Camp Cambria staff at all time.
2)Respect all other camper at all times.
- Campers are expected to bring a positive attitude to camp.
- No arguing, name-calling, or swearing. Absolutely no fighting or bullying (verbal, physical and relational bullying).
- Participate in each activity and help others do the same.
3)Respect the property belonging to Camp Kodiak, our host camp, other camper and staff members.
4)Choose appropriate behaviours and language.
- Male campers are not permitted in female cabins; Female cambers are not permitted in male cabins.
- Male and female campers are not to be alone in nonpublic places. I.e. bathrooms, under blankets, in wooded areas, near water or anywhere they cannot be easily seen.
- No campers are to sit, stand, shake, push or touch golf carts unless they are with another camp staff member travelling to activities.
- All campers travelling on golf carts are to be seated at all time
- Cursing or inappropriate verbal (or non-verbal) language will not be tolerated.
- No campers are to threaten, steal or endanger the well-being of self or others.
Discipline will be handled in the following manner:
- The camp staff member will give an official warning along with an explanation of the rules of camp and why the behaviour is inappropriate. Age appropriate activity adjustments and/or time-outs may be used depending on the severity of the incident.
- Upon issue of a second warning, the camper will meet with the Camp Director to discuss and implement solutions. The Camp Director will communicate with parent(s)/guardians explaining the concern. Clear objectives will be established.
- If the camper’s behaviour shows no improvement, ultimately, he/she will be asked to withdraw from the camp. A parent/guardian will be asked to pick up the camper from Camp Cambria as soon as possible.
If the situation is judged to be very serious, such as in the case of fighting or abuse (verbal/physical/psychology), the above steps may be waived and immediate dismissal from camp may be warranted.
