New Referee Course – October 2012

I would like to thank you for your recent interest in attending the new Referee Course to be held by the Altrincham FA on behalf of the Cheshire Football Association.

Subject to your being at least 14 years of age by the 1st November 2012, you are invited to attend an 11 a side Basic New Referee Course which will be held at the venues and dates as detailed in the attached programme. (This course will not qualify you to referee 6 a side small sided football or Futsal and if you wish to qualify for these games please contact Trevor Massey directly at Cheshire County FA on 01606 871166)

The course will be predominantly a practical one and you must bring with you outside playing clothing incorporating shorts, towel, top and football boots as well, as suitable inside footwear. You should also bring with you suitable packed lunch and refreshments for all sessions.

The fee for the course will be £95.00 and cheques should be made payable to Altrincham and District FA and please note thatfees once the course commences are non refundable for any reason. Candidates will be expected to behave appropriately during the course and anyone

found to be disrupting the course will be requested to leave without any monies being refunded. All mobile phones must be switched off and removed from sight during all teaching sessions.

As attendance to the course is limited and on a first come first served basis I would appreciate receiving your confirmation in writing together with your cheque confirming your acceptance of this invitation.

Administration Session & Supplying Distance Learning Pack to candidates

You then have at least four weeks to learn the Laws of Association Football from the Laws of the Game, DVD and Pre-Course Study Pack to be supplied. The DVD and Study Pack to be returned at the end of the Course.

Eyesight Test

Sunday November 25th 2012 until March/April 2013 – MODULE 4

Completion of 6 games – 2 of which to be mentored

All candidates successful in examination will be expected to referee six eleven a-side games, two of which must be mentored. During this time you will be registered as a Level 9 Referee. (If you play the game for an affiliated Football Club, then during this short eleven-week period, priority must be given to the Referee appointments that you will receive. Playing for your team must not be given priority over the Referee appointments).

Mandatory Call Back Session

The purpose of the call back session is to discuss any problems you have experienced. It is mandatory that you attend this Session to be successful on the Course.

Presentation Evening

A Presentation Evening will be held at Altrincham AFC, Moss Lane, Altrincham, commencing at 7.30pm, in the Bar under the Main Stand. Entrance via the Red Gate at the other end of the stand we have used for the course. Families and friends are most welcome to attend with cameras at the ready and enjoy the evening.
