Aims:The Trust aims to work with charities and voluntary organisations to help young people striving to reach their full potential. Grants are available to offer opportunities, education and care that may not have been available hitherto.

Aims:To help the poor, needy and sick. Organisations should be charitable, non-profit making, voluntary or community based. They should also be locally managed and accountable. The trust normally only gives money to church appeals which have a definite outreach factor. The trust supports the elderly and gives help to activities such as luncheon clubs, outings, and respite care. It supports the work of hospices in its geographical area of giving. Youth groups and children’s charities are also supported.
Exclusions :Individuals. National organisations. Medical research. Activities managed by the local authority or health service. Dance troupes, and bands. Minibuses. Major capital projects.Church restoration schemes. Music and the Arts. Overseas trips.
Typical grant:£500 -£1,000.
Deadlines:The trust meets in March/April each year to consider applications. These should be made in writing to the Secretary by December 31st the previous year in order to allow time, where necessary, for a visit to be arranged.

Aims:To benefit young people under 25 who are resident in the city of York who, in the opinion of the Trustees, are in need of financial assistance. This can be for books, musical instruments, sports equipment or any other educational equipment not provided by the Local Authority, or for other educational purposes as the Trustees feel appropriate. Grants may also be made to educational establishments within the City of York Council boundary.

Exclusions:Trustees tend to refuse university fees, travel etc. and also school trips.

Area of benefit:The Diocese of York (see website for map)
Aims:The Heworth Moor House Trust aims to help persons who live within the Diocese of York, who are in need, hardship and distress as a result of pregnancy and their children. This means that the Trust offers grants up to £250 to help eligible individuals to buy clothing, bedding, buggies, washing machines, tumble dryers, essentials for a baby or household items. Grants may be considered to assist other organisations with similar aims.
Exclusions:The Trust cannot help with debts or give loans.
Typical grant:Small grants from £25 to £250. Larger grants may be available in exceptional cases.
How to apply:To qualify you must live within the Diocese of York and be the carer of a baby or young child. Download an application form or write to the secretary at the address below for a form. The application should be completed and submitted by a professional worker such as a Social Worker, Health Visitor, GP, Community Nurse or Priest. In addition a supporting letter should be provided by the sponsor giving any relevant background information that would be helpful to the trustees in reaching a decision. Quotes and/or estimates are required for all applications.

Applications must include:-
- A brief description of the purpose of the group applying, its legal structure (eg voluntary organisation or a registered charity) and the composition of its committee or trustee body.
- The need or purpose for which the grant is needed.
- The amount being sought and, if applicable, the amount raised so far, and if you have applied elsewhere.
- A copy of the latest accounts, or a statement of income, expenditure and current resources for the project.
Applications may be made at any time during the year and will be considered at the next meeting of the committee.
