Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS)
MOPS is a program designed for mothers of preschoolers and their children, coordinated by the mothers themselves. Their mission is to nurture every mother of a preschooler by meeting her distinct needs to the glory of Jesus Christ. Currently MOPS needs help with childcare (newborns -5 year old) while the mothers are in presentations and discussions.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training
The CERT Training Program is designed to help communities prepare for effective disaster response through training and planning. With training and information, individual and community groups can be prepared to serve as a crucial resource capable of performing many of the emergency functions needed in the immediate post-disaster period. Additionally, fraternity and sorority members volunteering for this training will receive community service for three quarters (up to 6 hours per quarter) upon completion of the program provided documentation is turned in each quarter to the Greek Affairs Office. MS Walk 2011
With help from our generous volunteers, Walk MS raises awareness and critical funds for Multiple Sclerosis research, services, programs, and advocacy. For over 20 years the National Multiple Sclerosis Society has held the Walk MS event, maintaining community involvement in supporting these vital programs. Volunteers would are needed for the day of the event. Their tasks would vary from serving snacks and water to cheering on the walkers.

UCSB Children’s Center Fundraiser Event
The Children’s Center hosts an annual silent auction and celebration potluck in spring quarter. They are in need 20-25 volunteers to help with potluck set-up, beverage, trash & dish duty during the event, and event clean-up. Volunteers can also help with the organized activity tables and staffing the silent auction room.

Isla Vista Anti-Burglary Campaign
The Anti-Burglary Campaign is a program focusing on safety and crime reduction in Isla Vista. The spring campaign is in need of volunteers for a door-to-door informational campaign. Volunteer tasks include a door-to-door “knocking” campaign in which they will talk with each residence in Isla Vista about property safety and crime and distributing pertinent fliers, brochures, and/or magnets with resources. Volunteers must attend a pre-activity training for a briefing of information and streets to be assigned.

Isla Vista Adopt-A-Block
The Adopt-A-Block Program, started in 1996, aims to keep the streets of Isla Vista clean by involving the local community in regular clean-up efforts. Volunteers can participate for short clean-ups weekly or all-day community clean-up events.

Goleta Valley Beautiful
Goleta Valley Beautiful focuses on beautification in the local communities of Isla Vista, Goleta, and Santa Barbara areas through tree-planting efforts. Individuals and groups can participate throughout the year by helping plant trees at events organized through Goleta Valley Beautiful. Volunteers are encouraged to wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothes. No experience necessary; all tools, equipment and safety gear is provided by Goleta Valley Beautiful at the event site.

Food Bank of Santa Barbara County
The Food Bank of Santa Barbara County relies on volunteers to fulfill their mission of providing nutritious food and nutrition education to our communities. Volunteers are the backbone of this organization. We work with individuals, businesses, and civic organizations to design effective and rewarding volunteer opportunities. Volunteers are asked to complete an application and attend an informative orientation. Individuals and groups are welcome.
