5th Grade Newsletter

October 31st—November 4th

Reminders…
  • As weather begins to get cold please label your child’s coat and other items.
  • Parents please rate our school. The survey results will be translated by the Georgia Department of Education to calculate our school climate star rating. Thank you for your time. You can access this link via our Facebook Page or one of the 5th grade teacher’s websites.
.
  • 5th Grade will be testing for Benchmarks on Friday, November 4th (ELA) and Monday, November 7th (Math). Please have your child at school on time as we will begin testing right at 8:00.
  • Students have started bringing purses, bigger bags, blankets, stuffed animals, toys, and much, much more “stuff” to school. Please note that students will not be allowed to carry this “stuff” from class to class. The only items your child will be allowed to carry class to class is their communication folder, pencil pouch, a book, and/or a lunch box. But the overwhelming amount of “stuff” that they are attempting to carry has gotten out of control, and is not only a DISTRACTION to the individual, but also to others.
  • Ice Cream will be sold EVERY FRIDAY.
  • After 3 absences you will receive an automated phone call notifying you of the absences. This will be standard procedure throughout Gordon County this year.
  • Please remember to check your child’s behavior card each night. This is in the back of their communication folder.
  • Please keep collecting Box Tops for Education.
