1.4 SUBMITTALS

B. Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
1. Preparation instructions and recommendations.
2. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
3. Installation methods.

1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A. Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.

1. Description: Acrylic units are vacuum formed from one-piece solid sheet of cast acrylic. Acrylic is bonded to fiberglass laminate to provide a strong durable module. Floors are slip-resistant.

1. Description: Gel coated fiberglass units shall be manufactured by the spray-up method. Each unit shall receive 16 to 18 mils thick gel coat, two -layers of fiberglass laminate and extra reinforcing in stress areas. Floors are slip-resistant.

2.3 MATERIALS

A. Molded Fiberglass Units: Minimum 15 percent fiberglass content, cellular inner core, reinforced polyester outer coating; complying with ANSI Z124.1 or Z124.2, as applicable.
1. Certified by NAHB to meet the requirements of HUD Use of Materials Bulletin 73A.
2. Surface Burning Characteristics: Flame spread index less than 200; smoke developed index less than 450; when tested in accordance with ASTM E 84 or NFPA 255 (Class C).
3. Gelcoated Finish: Sanitary grade polyester gelcoat, high gloss.
4. Acrylic Finish: Vacuum-formed acrylic sheet, one-piece, high gloss.

5. Reinforcement for Grab Bars and Wall-Mounted Accessories: Factory-installed minimum 3 inches by 3 inches (75 by 75 mm) steel mounting plates anchored to a core material fiberglassed into walls in manner required to meet load resistance requirements of ASTM F 446.
6. Reinforcement for Future Grab Bars: Provide a core material fiberglassed in appropriate locations, complying with ASTM F 446, Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards, and HUD requirements.
7. Base supporting bottom of unit, consisting of wood or other core material applied in a fiberglass lamination.
8. Self-caulking chrome-plated brass drain.
B. Grab Bars: Type 304 stainless steel; configuration complying with ANSI A117.1, ADAAG, and ASTM F 446.
1. Size: 1-1/2 inches (37 mm) diameter tube, 18 gage wall thickness.
2. Mounting: Concealed stainless steel bolts and nuts, with escutcheon of same finish as bar.
3. Height: Horizontal bars 36 inches (915 mm) above floor; vertical bars centered at 42 inches (1065 mm) above floor.
C. Folding Shower Seat with Legs: Stainless steel frame with 4 legs. Seat can fold up against wall.
D. Shower Curtain Rod: Type 304 stainless steel tube, 1 inch (25 mm) outside diameter, 20 gage wall thickness.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
A. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
B. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
3.2 PREPARATION
A. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
B. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
3.3 INSTALLATION
A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
3.4 PROTECTION
A. Protect installed products until completion of project.
B. Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products after Substantial Completion.
