2017 – 2018 Wish List

Replacement tubs for Stensrud & Porteous Lodges / $50,000 / Tubs are used daily and they require frequent repairs. A new tub will provide improve temperature and infection control and there would be significantly less down time ensuring residents receive a regular bath as well as on an as needed basis.
Comforts of Home campaign:
Replace bedside tables, 4 drawer chests, and window treatments. Paint and flooring.
Add one visitor chair per room
Furniture for resident rooms – replace one floor per year / $5,000 per single room

$20,000 / The current furniture dates back to the 1970s, with some pieces that are even older. Most of the bedside tables are in poor condition. Some have already fallen apart and been discarded, leaving a shortage of tables. New tables and chests of drawers would be more appropriate for residents with ‘soft corners’ providing better safety and making a more home life environment. Signage on room to recognize the donation.
3 season sunrooms for Porteous and Stensrud Lodges / $125,000 each / To create an alternative seating space year round
High quality linens and towels
New accessible resident work stations within the Porteous Lodge kitchen / $15,000 / Create a work station to enable residents to be engaged in meaningful activities
Portable walking frame for physio / $7,500 / Strengthen and maintain walking ability (walking program)
Standing Frame (PL) / $5,000 / Physio activities
Blanket / Towel warmers for Stensrud and Porteous Lodges / $7,500 each
Warming cabinet for facecloths for in the dining rooms

New lighting for Villa / $15,000 / Poor lighting creates challenges for people with dementia and/or cognitive difficulties. Used estimate for second floor lighting at Stensrud as basis for this.

Replace patio furniture including wheelchair accessible swings
– front and courtyard / $3,000 - $5,000 / Residents access patio and courtyard year-round, when weather permits, for visiting and getting fresh air.
