AUGUSTA UNIVERSTY EMPLOYEE ADVISORY COUNCIL CLAY ADAMSON FACILITIES SERVICES EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR AWARD

NOMINATION GUIDELINES

The Clay Adamson Facilities Services Employee of the Year Award is a prestigious award recognizing meritorious job performance during the last year by the Facilities Services Division for Augusta University employees. The University Employee Advisory Council and Augusta University Facilities Services Committee administers this employee recognition program; therefore, Augusta University Facilities Services employees presently serving on the University Employee Advisory Council, Augusta University Facilities Services Committee, or Augusta University Facilities Services panels are excluded from nomination.

This award is made possible by an endowment fund established by Mr. Clay Adamson Jr., retired Director of Facilities Management with Augusta University (formerly MCG), along with supporters and friends, to honor and recognize the meritorious job performance of one Facilities Services Employee each year. Mr. Adamson directed Augusta University’s (formerly MCG) operations in plant engineering, hospital engineering, environmental services, building maintenance, grounds maintenance/development and work management until his retirement in 1997 after 30 years of dedicated service.

Award nominees will be recognized at the Employee Awards Ceremony scheduled for April 13, 2017.

I. GENERAL CRITERIA:

-  Nominees must be a full-time, Augusta University classified employee with at least one year of service in the Augusta University Facilities Services Division, excluding senior management, department head positions, and leased employees.

-  Nominations should describe how the nominee’s job performance is outstanding.

-  Nominations should describe why the nominee should be considered a candidate for an award of merit.

-  Nominations should focus on what distinguishes the performance of this nominee above that of other employees.

-  Nominations should describe how the employee models excellence in job performance, service and promotes a positive image for Augusta University and the Facilities Services Division.

-  Nominations should describe initiatives taken by an employee concerning expected performance and how the employee is considered outstanding.

-  Nominations should contain examples of the employee’s outstanding initiatives, resourcefulness, dedication and/or leadership in the performance of his/her job duties.

-  Nominations should contain examples of significant accomplishments, notable success, or recognition received in achieving job-related goals.Letters of support from customers, supervisor, and/or peer group are optional.

II. PROCESS TO NOMINATE:

-  Complete all sections of the nomination form and submit supporting information.

-  Nominee's supervisor should complete and sign the endorsement. The supervisor should then forward the completed supporting document to the appropriate Director or Department Head for approval before submitting to Human Resources.

-  Nomination deadline is Tuesday, January 31, 2017 for the annual award.

-  A nomination can be submitted by the employee’s supervisor or peer group.
