Dallas Ultimate Association Board Meeting

In attendance: Micah Rehfuss, Libby Shelby, Darius Tse, Brian Bittner, Emi Fitzgerald and Kim (Momma) Walker

Absent:Curt Riffel, Michelle Walters and Sana Irani

Minutes:

  • Minutes approved- motion by Micah/2nd by Libby/vote - all in favor

Mixed College Regionals:

  • At UTD in mid November
  • We TD it?
  • Give scholarship people a chance to help.
  • Which board member will oversee it?
  • Or have a community person oversee it?

Dissiminating Info to New Ultimate Players:

  • Flyer
  • Direct people to the website.
  • Pickup info.
  • League info.
  • Give to captains to handout.
  • Put in places like rec centers (with pull off pieces).
  • Stickers
  • Darius design.
  • Have website info on them as well as DUA logo.
  • Vote on purchasing stickers for under $200 - motion by Libby/2nd by Brian/ vote - all in favor

Winter League:

  • Fields:
  • Carrollton #1 option.
  • Brian will talk to them.
  • Dates:
  • Depends of Carrollton field availability.
  • Fall High School League Championship will be on 11/18 or 12/2.
  • Price:
  • Depending on price of fields.
  • Combine Hat Tournament and Winter (was Fall) Fest.
  • Cookie decorating.
  • Snowflake making.
  • Theme:
  • Solicit the community.
  • Take poll after regionals.
  • Board add their own ideas.
  • Post of Facebook.
  • Do a live broadcast.
  • Possible Coordinators:
  • Brian will ask around.
  • Food:
  • Darius will speak to Diane Street and Julie Fernandez about coordinating.

PE Presentation:

  • Texas Youth Ultimate put together demonstration.

  • Libby, Darius, Michelle - 1 person each day.
