Welcome to Calvin Church. We are glad you are here to worship God with us. As we gather to celebrate communion this morning, if you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please join us.
The Call to the Wall camp meetings start tonight at 7 p.m. at the Revival Center in Cadillac. Pastor Dave McMahon will be preaching and Pastors Gary Leftwich and Ed Gilbert, as well as other area pastors, will be leading worship.
Men’s Prayer Group will be cancelled this week for the Call to the Wall meetings.
Council meets Tuesday night at 8 p.m. Agenda materials are downstairs.
Intercessors’ Prayer Group will meet Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
Singspiration is next week Sunday evening at the Community of Christ Church. It will be our annual campfire sing after VBS. Bring lawn chairs and something to share foodwise. The sing starts at 6 p.m.
Community Vacation Bible School is this week: 2016 theme – SON Treasure Island. Chapel Hill Wesleyan, Community of Christ, Marion UMC, and Calvin Church are having Vacation Bible School Monday-Thursday this week from 6-8 p.m. at the Marion UMC, 216 W. Main Street. Children 4 years old through 6th grade are invited to attend. Each day will include Bible lessons, singing, crafts, snacks, and recreation, all to help children learn more about Jesus and how much He loves them. Children and staff will be bringing in offerings to purchase solar-powered audio Bibles in various languages for people who want to know about God but can’t read. In past years, many of our VBS kids didn’t attend church on a regular basis, so this is a good outreach opportunity. If you know of anyone who would like to attend and needs a ride, see Barb Henrickson, Harriet Borgman, or Amy VandePol.
One more dozen cupcakes with blue frosting needed! Calvin Church will be providing 5 dozen cupcakes for VBS for Wednesday’s snack (August 10). Please sign up on the sheet on the back table. If you could bring them to our church kitchen sometime before 5 p.m. Wednesday, that would be great. Thank you ahead of time for your help.
The Call to the Wall camp meetings take place every night this week beginning at 7 p.m. Come when you can and leave when you must. Next week Sunday morning Pastor Ken will be preaching at the Revival Center worship service, and Pastor Spencer will be leading worship here at Calvin. The community is invited to a church picnic at the Revival Center beginning at 1 p.m. Food and drink are provided, but bring a dessert to share. Games and activities are available for all ages (volleyball, basketball, 9 square, 3D archery, skeet shooting).
If anyone has digital photos of the church picnic, please email them to Holly at . Thank you.
