Role Purpose

To ensure that the Company pursues best practice with regards its policies and procedures, development of industrial relations and legislative compliance within an open and empowered culture.

To ensure all staff, colleagues, customers and contractors comply with all Health and Safety and Environmental procedures and policies at all times.

Responsible for leading the shift teams in the operation of the site and its associated equipment, so as to achieve maximum performance and productivity, including:

o  Coordinating the maintenance and cleaning activities to ensure maximum plant availability and flexibility

o  Coordinating the completion of static and daily plant maintenance and fault records

o  Coordinating the processing and sorting of wastes into recyclate and residual waste fractions

o  Coordinating the safe operation of static plant including screens, shredder, baler, wrapper & air separators

o  Coordinating the safe operations of all mobile plant; wheeled loader, grabs, telehandler and clamp truck

o  Co-ordination and support of R&M contractors

o  Coordinating the inspection of waste on reception and reporting of non-conforming wastes

o  Completion of daily environmental and safety inspections, and stock checks

o  Participating in department training and development and staff appraisals

o  Any reasonable duties at Management request.

Key Responsibilities

·  To coordinate and supervise waste processing and associated operations in order to maximise the throughput of the plant through daily instruction to the operational and maintenance teams and associated contractors.

·  To ensure waste inputs and process outputs are managed and dealt with in compliance with the Environmental Permit conditions and all relevant Planning, Environmental and Health & Safety legislation.

·  To constantly look at ways to improve the operation of the facility and liaise with all appropriate stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience (preferred)

·  Qualifications –Current Certificate of Technical Competence in Treatment and Transfer preferred or working towards the award.

·  High level of and proven track record showing practical operational experience within a waste processing driven operation.

·  Good communication skills at all levels both verbally and written.

·  Computer literate in word documents, spreadsheets.

·  The ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility during dynamic situations.

·  Completer/Finisher able to deliver results on schedule.

·  Potential for promotion, within the Company.

·  Affable and flexible personality.

·  Excellent work ethic.

·  Detail oriented.
