Career Training Project PART 3

Section 1: Update and Summarize your Career Path (2-3 pages)

  1. Students must first write a detailed updated explanation of your planned career path/goals. Summarize why you chose that career path and post-secondary training institution. Research and identify the most up to date5-10 year job growth outlook for this career field and explain how this will affect you after your get your degree and enter the workforce.
  2. Identify the higher educational school/institution you will attend that offers the training/degree you need, or explain how you will gain the necessary experience you need including the following:Name, location, degree program of the college, trade school, post-high school training or certification needed, etc. (plus entrance requirements and application processif you have not applied yet)
  3. Courses and degree requirements- Research and explain in detail the required training level or degree needed in your field. How many credits do you need and how long will it take you to finish this program? (You can print out a copy of the course requirements from your school’s website)

Section 2: Personalized Career Training Research Project

  1. Research your introductory course requirements and their descriptions toidentify a topic, skill, or theory that you will need to learn that you want to research (topic must be approved by Mr. Chyr)
  2. Write a 3-5 page research paper on the topic you chose and approved by Mr. Chyr. You must write an introduction explaining why you chose this topic, why this topic is relevent to your career, and what you hope to learn from researching this topic. You will then complete the research to effectively answer your questions about this topic and demonstrate your new understanding of the topic.
  3. The paper needs to show accurate and in-depth research using legitimate sources listed in the proper format for your career field (MLA or APA). I expect you to use at least 5 different legitimate sources. NO WIKIPEDIA type sites!
  4. Write a 1-2 page reflective journal describing what you have learned from this research and how it has helped to better prepare for the careerpath you plan on pursuing, or explain how this research may have questioned your desire to follow this career path?
