STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. FCCLA: Last day to join FCCLA will be Monday, September 23rd. See Mrs. Echols or Ms. Cooper to pick up a
membership form (rooms 1021 &1022).
2. PAWS T-SHIRTS, HOODIES, & SWEATS: PAWS will have CJHS t-shirts, hoodies, and sweats on sale in the
cafeteria Thursday, October 3rd and Thursday, November 7th. Cost ofitems are: t-shirts - $10.00;
hoodies & sweat pants - $20.00 each. You may pay by cash or check. Please make checks payable to CJHS PAWS.
3. FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN STUDENTS AND ATHLETES (FCSA): Ninth grade FCSA will meet in
Mr. S’s room (118) during the second lunchThursday. Anyone is welcome anytime!
4. ASTRONOMY CLUB: Please be part of our stellar group and meet with the Astronomy Club TODAY in
Mrs. Clanton’s room (#126) from 3:20 to 3:50 p.m. We have many plans to make regarding upcoming astronomy
events in the central Arkansas area. We will also be learning a little about astronomy at each meeting!!
5. STUDENT COUNCIL: Students, you will vote on student council officers Thursday (8th grade) and Friday (9th
grade) during your science class. We will have voting machines from the city of Conway to use. As in any election,
please have your selections written down before you enter the voting booth so that you may vote and move on and let
others vote.
Candidates for CJHS President are: Alex Burlison, Hadiyah Cummings, Andrew Rodriguez, Kaleigh Smith,
JaKayla Storey, and Jillian Tang.
Candidates for CJHS Vice-President are: Alyssa Bohm, Matthew Henninger, and Kaymon Neal
Candidate for CJHS Secretary is: Anna Fey (she runs unopposed)
Candidates for CJHS Treasurer are: Phillip Bryan and Megan Haas
The members at large are: Jessica Brown, Tanner Ruth, Noah Smith, Sarah Maull, Logan Chandler, Gaylon Jeffrey,
Hannah Ables, Beth Fernbacher, Sidney Hensley, Stefani Howington, Cody Biddle, Kellirae Perrine, and Sam Revis.
They have all met the requirements to be a member at large and it is not necessary to vote on them.
6. BACK TO SCHOOL DANCE: Friday, September 27th from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria. Admission will be
$5.00 and a current school ID is required to attend. Be on the lookout for more details soon!
7. EUROPEAN TOUR: Students, have you ever wanted to walk on the beaches of France or visit the Tower of
London? Would you like to visit Berlin and walk through checkpoint Charlie, or climb the Eiffel Tower in Paris?
Do you want to see the Eagle’s Nest in the German Alps or visit the first concentration camp at Dachau (pronounced
“dok ow”)? If you answered yes to any of these then attend the informational meetingWednesday evening at 7:00
in room 603 at the CPS Annex building. Mr. Wahlquist will meet parents and students to give out information,
cost and itineraries for the European tour, summer of 2015. That’s Wednesday at 7:00 in room 603 at the CPS Annex.
