Course Description

This program focuses on building your communication skills for travel, work or personal purposes. Class work will be chosen to help you in all the skill areas: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Mastering grammar is a very big part of effective communication at level 410, and we will be learning and practising grammar in an interactive, participatory way. Listening will take place in both the lab and the classroom, and may include listening to interviews, news items, television shows or movies. Reading and writing will focus on understanding the skills necessary for increasing fluency.

Talk to your teacher first - Professional Courtesy

In Canada, it is usual to speak directly to your teacher if you have a question or concern about the North American classroom teaching style or the curriculum. A student should make an appointment or see his/her teacher after class to clarify any misunderstandings or resolve possible issues. In Canada, this is referred to as professional courtesy. If the issue persists, then a Head Teacher is available to help.
