Points are accumulated for performances from all BAA shows during the season. There are also Trophies for the leading points scoring dogs that will be presented at the Grand Prix Finals weekend.
Pawsability & Veteran classes will not be included in the points tables or Grand Prix Finals, though there will be a special Veterans class at the Finals weekend. No points will be awarded for Pairs, Team, invitation, demonstration or non-scheduled Pay on the Day classes.

CLASS DEFINITIONS
A dog may be entered in ONE height category only, Micro, Mini, Medium or Maxi
Please specify jump height category on the entry form.
Agility classes have contact equipment, Jumping classes do not.
Power & Speed is an Agility class. Helter Skelter, Clockwork Tunnels are Jumping classes.
Time fault and out is where competitors are allowed a time within which they must correctly negotiate as many obstacles on the course as possible. Should the course be completed with time to spare, start again! Any fault will result in the competitor having to leave the ring as quickly as possible, proceeding to the finish gate to stop the time.
Up n Unders is a course consisting entirely of jumping obstacles and tunnels. No weaves or contacts.
Micro
For dogs that measure under 11in at the withers. Jump height will be 9in.
Mini
For dogs that measure under 15in at the withers. Jump height will be 13.75in.
Medium
For dogs that measure over 14in but less than 18in at the withers. Jump height 17.75in.
Maxi
For dogs that measure over 17in at the withers. Jump height will be 24in.
Level Classification: Initially a dog may initially be entered in ONE level only, and must be specified in the appropriate box for each dog on the entry form. Levels are: -
Introductory, Primary, Novice, Graduate, Masters, Pawsability & Veteran.
If you enter at a jump height less than in the size definitions above, you must enter as either Pawsability or Veteran.
These ability levels Introductory, Primary, Novice, Graduate & Masters equate to the familiar (ElementaryGrade1, Starters Grade 2/3, Novice Grade 3/4/5, Senior Grade 6 & Advanced Grade 7.)
ON THE ENTRY FORM YOU MUST SPECIFY YOUR DOGS BAA REGISTRATION NUMBER–*This number is the same as yourEMDAC number which will be transferred over to the BAA Stats*.
This ensures that your dog is entered at its correct level and it also ensures that your points tally is maintained correctly throughout the year.
For dogs new to BAA please enter level as follows:
All dogs AND handlers new to agility should enter as INTRODUCTORY
Dogs/handlers that compete under other organisations are required to make initial entry to EMDAC shows at the appropriate level as follows:
Grade 1 (KC) or equivalent as INTRODUCTORY
Grade 2 (KC) or equivalent as PRIMARY
Grade 3 (KC) or equivalent as PRIMARY or NOVICE
Grade 4 (KC) or equivalent as Novice
Grade 5 (KC) or equivalent as NOVICE or GRADUATE
Grade 6 (KC) or equivalent as GRADUATE
Grade 7 (KC) or equivalent as MASTERS
Dogs which compete in higher levels by virtue of handlers wins with another dog may enter at– PRIMARY.
For dogs not jumping their regulation jump height they can be entered in either:
Pawsability- for dogs of any age that for whatever reason are not able to jump at their designated jump height as specified in height definitions. Choice of jump height 9, 13.75 or 17.75ins. No dog in this class will be permitted to jump higher than 17.75ins. This category is designed for young dogs just starting their agility careers and also for dogs that are returning to agility after a layoff from illness/injury. Dogs can enter this class at any time and when ready, return to their appropriate ability level & jump height. It also gives opportunity for veteran dogs to enter at lower height before fully committing to veteran classes.
Or alternatively:
Veteran – for dogs of 7 years of age and over. Choice of jump height 9, 13.75 or 17.75ins. No veteran dog will be permitted to jump higher than 17.75ins. This class is for older dogs that still enjoy agility but are no longer competing in any organisation at their regulation jump height. Once a dog enters BAA Veteran it will be expected to remain there for the remainder of its agility career.
Dependent on entry some levels may be combined for awards.
Status for the BAA show season is that effective at 1stOctober of that season. Dogs may retain their status for the entire BAA show season (if the handler wishes).
All you need to do is tick the appropriate box on entry form. BAA will keep a record of results during the year. At the end of year the top performing dogs will be promoted to next level, for the following year.
A Voluntary relegation system also operates to allow dogs to move down the levels.
