Role Playing Situation #5

The 4-H year ends on the last day of August and the new 4-H year begins on the first day of September. The Kids Co. 4-H Club held their officer election at the September meeting on the 15th. Janna was elected President, Blair Vice-President, Nick Secretary, Emily Treasurer and Dan Reporter. President Janna asked for two volunteers to be Co-Chairs of Recreation. April and Mike volunteered. A motion was made and seconded to have April and Mike serve as Co-Chairs of the Recreation Committee.

What should the former officers do now? What BIG job does the former Treasurer still need to complete?

And, there is never any time for the recreation activities that Recreation Leader, Joe has planned.

During the September meeting, the “For You” 4-H Club set one of their club goals as recruiting at least 10 more members. During that meeting, the new officers were elected. National 4-H Week is in a couple of weeks and the idea was presented to begin their New Member campaign then. Although, the new officers do not know what all of their duties are yet.

How do the new officers find out what they should do?

What are some of the jobs that each officer can be responsible for and how should they get the jobs done?
