The Grant Professionals Association (GPA) has established the first annual International Grant Professionals Week to be held March 16 - 20, 2015. GPA took this initiative to celebrate and recognize the work of grant professionals, administrators, consultants, managers, grant-makers and writers.

As a nonprofit or municipality who depends on grant professionals to help raise the funds you need to meet your mission and vision, the XXX Chapter of GPA is encouraging you to join us in March to recognize these vital members of your team.

Every day, grant professionals work diligently, often behind the scenes, to seek grant opportunities, plan and manage projects, and raise support for the causes organizations like yours champion. These talented professionals are dedicated to providing the highest standard of ethics, quality program development, thoughtful program implementation and wise financial stewardship.

During International Grant Professionals Week, the XXX Chapter of GPA will be participating by hosting the following activities. We hope that you will encourage your grants-responsible staff to join us:

  • Activity A
  • Activity B
  • Activity C

You can also take part in celebrating and recognizing your in-house and contract grants professionals during International Grant Professionals Week and beyond. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Recognize your grants professional at a staff, senior leadership or board of trustees meeting. Disclose their impact (either a recent success, or an overview of the year) and thank them for their contribution.
  • Present your grants professional with a letter of commendation or recommendation to recognize their impact and achievements (sample attached).
  • Include sufficient funding in your annual budget to provide sufficient professional development opportunities for your grant professional to expand their skills and keep up with best practices. (Hint: GPA membership provides a wealth of educational and networking opportunities)
  • Recognize your grants professional in your organization's print and/or electronic newsletters, or as part of an "employee spotlight" program.
  • Invest in your grant professional by subsidizing and helping them maintain their Grant Professionals Certification (GPC), which is a nationally recognized credential attesting to their experience and qualifications as a grant professional.

GPA is a professional organization that builds and supports a community of grant professionals committed to serving the greater public good. Please join us during International Grant Professionals Week by celebrating and recognizing the grants professionals who help you achieve your mission!

With gratitude for your service to our community,
