De-stress Before Results Day Weekend (“the Competition”)
Terms and Conditions:-
- The promoter of this Competition is Coventry University, a higher education corporation whose administrative offices are situated at Portal House, 163 New Union Street, Coventry, CV1 2PL (the “University”)
- The Competition will run from10:00 on Wednesday 27th September to 18:00 on Wednesday 27th September 2017and any entries received after this date will not be counted.
- Only one entry per team will be entered into the prize draw
- The competition is only open to persons, over the age of 18 before 25th September 2017, who are attending Coventry University. This competition is not open to any employees (or family member of such employees) of the University or any of its group companies. No third-party entries, bulk entries or entries submitted by agents will be accepted. The University reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants. The University may require such information as it considers reasonably necessary for the purpose of verifying the eligibility of an entry and the prize may be withheld unless and until the University is satisfied with the verification.
- Eligible applicants will be entered into the prize draw automatically on completion and successful submission of their images between 10:00 on Wednesday 27th September to 18:00 on Wednesday 27th September 2017. The University shall not be responsible for any failure in the transmission and receipt of entries.
- There is 1 prize available for the winning team. This consists of a hamper including various gadgets, vouchers, clothing and food.
- Thewinner will be decided by the team who secure the most points through completion of the most challenges. In the result of one or more teams achieving the same amount of points, the winner will be picked from the quickest time taken to do the Escape Room challenge. The winner will be notified by the University on Facebook orby email with details of how to claim their prize.
- The decision of the University is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
- Where the winner cannot be contacted by Monday 2nd October or if any prize is otherwise unclaimed or declined, the prize shall be deemed as not accepted and a supplementary winner will be picked by the University based on the same points system.
- The University will not be responsible for any inability of a prize winner to claim their prize within the specified timeframe. The University reserves the right to provide substitute prize(s) of similar value should the specified prize(s) become unavailable for reasons beyond its reasonable control. Prizes are non-transferable nor can they be substituted for a cash alternative.
- Winners will be required to collect the prize from The Hub once notified by the organisers.
- Insofar as is permitted by law, the University, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances accept liability for any loss or damage to personal possessions or for any injury sustained by any eligible applicant during the competition. The University does not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Insofar as is permitted by law, the University, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by their negligence. Your statutory rights are not affected.
- If you are the winner of the competition, you agree that the University may use your name and images to announce you as the winner of this competition and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes including
- Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these Terms and Condition
- Submission of any entry will be taken to mean that the applicants are happy for any images submitted to be shared across the Coventry University Social Media channelsas well as on the University website.
- Entries not complying with these terms and conditions will be invalid.
- These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by English law, and all entrants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
- The names of the winners will be disclosed to anyone who requests the name of the competition winners when they send in a signed handwritten request along with a stamped self-addressed envelope to the Digital Team, Marketing and External Affairs, Coventry University, Prior Street, Coventry, CV1 5FB marking your envelop “De-Stress Competition”
Data Protection
- The University complies with the Data Protection Act 1998 (the "Act") and the General Data Protection Regulation 2016 (“GDPR”). For the purposes of the Act, the University is the data controller.
How we use your data
- The Personal Data you provide to us will only be used by the University to administer, assess and verify the winners of this prize draw.
Disclosure and Transfer of your data
- The University will not disclose your Personal Data to any third parties without your express consent to do so.
- The University will not transfer your Personal Data to any countries outside of the European Union (“EU”) without your express consent to do so.
Access to data
- Under the Data Protection Act you have the right to request a copy of the Personal Data the University holds about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected.
- Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. An access request will be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the personal data we hold about you.
