Players Code of Conduct 13’s-17’s

Code of Conduct applies to all Registered Players

  • All players must play and abide by the Rules and Regulations of AFL Victoria / South East Juniors and Narre Warren Junior Football Club.
  • Never argue with an Official. If you disagree with a decision – discuss this matter with your Coach or team manager after the game.These people are there to support you and help you enjoy your sport.
  • Verbal abuse of Officials, other players or provoking an opponent is not acceptable. Control your temper. Losing your temper does not help anyone and may mean that complaint may be made against you, your team or the club.
  • Work equally hard for yourself and for your Team. Your Team’s performance will benefit and so will you.
  • Be a good sportsman. Applaud all good plays whether they are by your Team, opponent or opposition team.
  • Treat all players as you would like to be treated. Do not interfere with, bully or take unfair advantage of another player. Do not harass another player because they speak, look or act differently. Bullying and Discrimination are very serious matters and will be taken very seriously.
  • Co-operate with your Coach, team mates and opponents. Remember – without them there would be no competition. If there is an issue talk to your coach. They are there to help and guide you.
  • Play to have “fun and enjoyment” and not just to please parents and coaches. This is YOUR time to enjoy sport.
  • Avoid using derogatory language. This includes swearing, racial and any other comments that put someone down due to a disability.
  • Be prepared to take responsibility for your actions.
  • Remember if you are using social media (such as twitter, kik or Instagram) other people can see what you write. You are a member of NWJFC and therefore you cannot say anything bad about your players, coaches or any other members of the club that might make it look bad. Good sportsman always stay positive!

By registering as a player with the Narre Warren Junior Football Club, I agree to abide by these Principles. I support the Club in its undertakings and encourage the Club to take any necessary disciplinary actions including the suspension and banning where warranted ofany player for repeated or serious breaches of the Players Code of Conduct.
