I want to thank you for your interest in the City of Lorenzo. Lorenzo, Texas is home to some of the friendliest people on the South Plains and everyone knows that South Plains people are the friendliest in the world.

At a time when most small towns are shrinking, Lorenzo is able to maintain a steady population. Our stability can be attributed to several factors.

1.  Our Proximity to a major metropolitan area. Lorenzo is located a short 16 miles from the City of Lubbock using US highway 62/82. We are 30 minutes from world class shopping, some of the finest medical facilities in the world, cultural events, concerts, a major university and anything else that a person could possibly want.

2.  Transportation; Lorenzo is located on highway 62/82, a four lane highway that connects to Interstate 27, 20 minutes away. I-27 is a portion of the Port to Plains highway system being developed to increase commerce between the United States, Mexico and Canada. We are 20 minutes from Preston Smith International airport. Lorenzo is also served by most major freight lines and is home to several trucking companies.

3.  Local Industry; Lorenzo is home to several manufacturing facilities making cotton yarn, farm equipment and motor trike conversions.

4.  Infrastructure; The City of Lorenzo continues to upgrade our water & wastewater systems using both city funds and Grant funds. This combination has allowed Lorenzo to provide our citizens with a safe and dependable supply of water and a wastewater system that is operating well below capacity. Having these systems in place will allow the city to accommodate an increase in population with a minimum of disruption. Our streets are well drained and while there is room for improvement they are in better shape than most towns our size.

5.  Last but not least is our people. I doubt that you will ever meet a harder working group of people. I have already stated that Lorenzo People are the friendliest in the world and we welcome the opportunity to show you just how friendly we really are.
