POSITION/TITLE:Human Resource/Administration Manager – Sao Paulo

REPORTS TO:Regional HR Director – Americas

DIRECT REPORTS:HR/Office Administrator

LOCATION:Sao Paulo, Brazil

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the management of CALA region human resource; business support and facilities, vendor and supplier management (including IT) issues. Leads and supports the development and implementation of human resource; business administration; office management, and accounting/finance practices, policies and procedures under the management of Openet’s Regional HR Director in consultation with Openet’s corporate Finance and IT offices in Dublin, Ireland and local service providers, notably Grant Thornton. Supports local employees and management around HR; office and facilities management; vendor; travel and expense management, and other business support needs within the CALA office.Supports regional HR, operations and facilities management on a regional basis, as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES:

  • Supervises and mentors HR/Admin staff in the delivery of HR, finance, facilities, supplier/contractor, and third party services providers in support of business operations.
  • Consults with local management in providing day to day HR guidance and services.
  • Manages the development and implementation of local policies and procedures with regard to Hr, Finance, contractor and supplier management in consultation with Regional HR and Corporate Finance and IT in Dublin, Ireland.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies in compliance with applicable Brazilian Labor law.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues with guidance from Regional HR Director and external counsel, as appropriate. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance for the CALA region, but specifically Brazil. Partners with legal department and Regional HR Director as needed/required.
  • Provides day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Manages and leads recruitment and contractor management support activities for the CALA region.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation for the CALA region and globally.
  • Develops contract/employment terms for new hires, promotions, transfers and contracted resources.
  • Manages locally benefits program in Brazil and reviews all benefit and payroll changes prior to processing.
  • Assist int'l employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters, to include non-immigrant and immigrant visa matters.
  • Maintains integrity of HR data for region through HRIS and employee records in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning.
  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Manages local compensation and benefit practices and tracking mechanisms.
  • Manages performance review process for region on an annual basis.
  • Manages the set-up and day to day delivery of office management; vendor and supplier relationships to meet operational needs.
  • Manages the expense submission; review and payment for approved employee business travel and related expenses;
  • Manages external travel services provider.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 8 - 10 years progressive experience in the professional services environment, preferably with a multi-national company developing and delivery HR; business support; finance, and office management support services.
  • Functional knowledge of Brazilian labor law and its specific application in a work environment
  • HR certification preferred.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Fluent English and Portuguese with working knowledge of Spanish preferred.
