- Cut black lining paper into three pieces each measuring 5x7 inches
- With double-stick tape, cover backsides of mats with lining papers
- Using templates on next page, punch holes in mats. Or simply measure ¼ inch from each edge of matt and punch holes, using template for reference.
- Put right side of center matt (one with holes in all four corners) and right side of left matt (one with holes on right side only) together, matching up holes on left side. (see photo 1)
- Insert one end of rubber band through hole. (see photo 2)
- Open inserted end and push opposite end of rubber band through the opening and pull tight. Do the same with the other hole. (see photo 3)
- Open mats so right sides are facing you then open free end of bottom rubber band and stretch it up over matt. Do the same with the top rubber band, stretching it downward over matt. The two rubber bands will form a hinge. (see photos4, 5, and 6)
- Repeat steps 11-14 with center matt and right matt.
- To create card, bend left matt backward and right matt inward (see photo 7)
- To make a vertical wall hanging, put tape across bottom half of the soft drink “pop top” and adhere centered on back of top matt to form hanger. (see photo 8)
- To make a triangular desk frame, bend left matt and right mats backward until tips are touching and tape on backside to hold. (see photo 9)
