2.If the item was added manually directly to the gradebook using the steps in the previous section three ways to grade exist.
3.To grade first click on Grades in the column on the right-hand side of the screen.
4. At this point you will be in the Joule Gradebook. If you have not used categories or all items are not showing, click on the Show Uncategorized items button.
5.Simply locate the assignment and student, click in the box, and enter the grade.
6.You can also click on Grader report and click in the boxes and enter the grade, but some scrolling may be required.
7.Lastly, you can click on Single View and select which Grade item (activity) you wish to grade for all students and then enter grades and click on Update.
8. Methods 4 and 7 are the easiest to use.
Weighting and Sum of Grades
1.A new aggregation method was added with the update. It is called natural and operates much the same way as Sum of Grades did.
2.If you were using Sum of Grades and a point system, it has been replaced with Natural. You may see a weights column and weights given. These do not change point values, and you need do nothing. The weights that are given are merely informational for you. Note they are greyed out.
3. If you were using weighting for items and find that the weighting appears incorrect, you can click on the small box in front of the weight in the Weights column and change the weight to reflect what is was before for the category and the items. Items are weighted against each category and categories are weighted against the course. For example, I have quizzes that count 25% of the grade for my course, I change the category weight to 25. I have 5 quizzes so I change each of them to 5.
